wym by Digital minimalism?

If ur on a computer all day, cleaning up ur apps, emails, etc does a lot more than you would think.

Something as simple as building a system where you have emails being filtered into tabs and not into ur main inbox does wonders srs. Also go on an unsubscribe rampage or promotional emails you haven't opened in a year. Organize ur apps/documents so they can be easily found and delete all the bs u don't need.

Takes some privilege to be able to.

A lot would say structural change is important, as well, so you can keep up benefits.

I spoke about it in some other thread. Kind of hit and miss, as digital minimalism becomes a bit of social outcast thing.

Switching to flip phone with physical buttons, rubber bumpy thingeys if you remember, is more pain than you think. For one, everybody sends messages and even asks questions with aid of pictures. It will take your family a year or two to learn to talk to you over the phone, and use right words instead of "things", so that you understand.

You will annoy the sheat out of waitresses by asking for an actual menu, printed on paper. It is slightly better now, but a year ago no one had paper menu's. They expect you to scan and surf everywhere.

Cleaning up e-mails of all spam and bloat and junk is easy, this part works ok.

Social media - I can't speak for it, never been addicted, other than occasional posts here.

Games. This is hard one. I deleted all of them gradually through past few ears, but I still play some silly online flash-type games. This part is kind of chronic condition in remission. Kind of like a shrunk tumor, addiction to games.

What works - sublimation. Not sure if this is digital detox, more like "digital re-assignment". Instead of mindlessly wasting time peeling into the small tiny screen, I learnt a few programming languages and progressed into almost employable programming skills.
