Why are people such dicks?

Like I went to Walmart today for example and was packed and only 2 ppl seemed to have manners. even when I yielded for a bunch of ppl they give you a pissy look and had 2 old ladies shake their heads at me.. even one I smiled at. Like would they rather if I just ran them over with my cart? Would that remove their bitch face?
