Taking a $10k pay cut to $70k for a new job?
Currently on $80k doing something I don’t really enjoy but don’t hate and is easy. Future prospects of this job can lead me a cushy $120k position within the same team.
Have a chance to get a new job at $70k, will be harder and more stressful but more aligned to what I want to do and can help potentially propel me into a position later in life that makes ~$150k+.

Coast til you get the $120K job
Then if you want to grind, use that to springboard to a $180K+ job
The purpose of life, is to enjoy life

I would say stick with the 80K job until you get the 120K.
Then I would just stay there until I drop dead.
If you can convince them to make your job remote. Even better. You can be at home getting paid to play videogames.
Worst case, if you are bored at work. If you have an office, buy a gameboy or a Nintendo switch and play it at work. If you are stuck in a cubicle then yolo.
My friend was playing a handheld at work and there were no issues.

Bit more context
I won’t be able to get the $120k job for 2ish years. But will be able to do it easily without any pressure. Just think my current jobs boring.
The $70k job, is what I’m more interested in, would be more pressure and stress (dealing with clients) but nothing extremely hard that I wouldn’t be able to handle once trained.
I won’t be able to go beyond the $120k as I have no interest in being a developer or engineer (plus too dumb to become one).
Both are generic officecel positions with good WFH options.
I think I’ll just coast in this $80k one then take the $120k one when offered and do it until I’m fired, or they close my department or they repackage my job and ship it to India.
