AMD absolutely cucking Nvidia and Intel
Just dropped the rx 7800 and 7700 Ct at price points beating the 4070 and 4060 ti with better performance except with Ray tracing. Amd processors keep up with Intel no problem at a lower price point as well.
You could build a performance comparable AMD machine over Intel/Nvidia for probably 10-20% discount right now.
I’m gonna pick up a 7800 as soon as I can.

Always glad to see competition, but holy fuk are AMD drivers bad. The last time I used an ATI card was years ago (they were terrible then. I had two cards running in crossfire, and would have to literally uninstall one card just to update drivers). But that was years ago so I bought a 7900xtx.
Nope, driver timeouts, have to run a special cleanup utility just to update drivers, holy chit what are they doing over there. Returned that card and just got a 4090, absolutely no issues.
I do like their processors though, especially the 7800x3d.

as for nvidia, just go on their reddit and see the pin thread every time a driver update is released and see how many people's games break when they update
amd having bad drivers is just a meme, i for one have not had an issue with nvidia or amd. currently using a rtx 3090, but owned both throughout my life.

just to be sure there was no chance of the nvidia drivers causing issues, i wiped my computer and reinstalled the os and all drivers. after the mobo chipset drivers i go to install the radeon drivers. computer reboots and LOCKS UP ON THE FUKKIN WINDOWS LOGO. i thought my ssd had bought the farm, so hard rebooted. same thing. booted into safe mode, ran amd's fukkin cleanup utility and installed the previous driver version. computer immediately booted into windows.
even then, the fun wasn't over. every hour or so i'd get driver timeouts and the game would crash. it wasn't a faulty gpu either, it was game specific, ie, most likely a driver issue. some games i could play for hours no problem. others crashed constantly. imagine paying fukking $1000 to play russian roulette with your fukkin video card. just lmao at amd.
took the card back, got a 4090, didn't wipe drive or do anything just installed the drivers. literally no issues since day one.
the sad part is, even IF amd didn't have dogchit drivers, they're still way far behind nvidia. DLSS is better than fsr, nvidia cards use less wattage and run cooler. i use blender for fun, and blender lets you render with optix, which is hella fast. amd has fukkin hip or something, it's dog****. my 3080 could render faster than the 7900xtx. nevermind that amd sucks at RT.
so even if you couldn't afford a 4090 and wanted to get a 7900xtx, just get a 4080 for the same price and have a better card with more features and no headaches.
