How many geys are needed to form a continuous train?
Back in high school geometry you were probably thinking 'when will I ever need to know this', but here's an example of why you were wrong.
How many geys are needed to form a continuous train? That is a circle of miscers all co-joined in a circle with nobody missing out on front or back action. (or rather more correctly a polygon - not to be confused with polly gone, which is when your parrot flies away lol)
Geometry to the rescue!
Our concern here is the angle of entry because if the 'corner' is too sharp then it ain't getting in. When our circle of miscers form their best circle each penor and each angus can be thought of as tangents to that circle, with an inside angle between each which is the corner. The more miscers we get the smoother the entry.
Mathematically
α= (n−2)π / n
^ π = Pi.
tells us the angle of entry α, where n is the number of miscers.
So for 4 miscers we have what is basically a square, with a 90 degree turn required. Obviously somebody is missing out in this situation.

With 12 miscers however the situation is much more promising as the angle of entry is now only 30 degrees!
