Why do people even like dogs? SRS

Dogs are covered in dirt
Dogs have snot coming down there nose
Most pvss and chit everywhere
Most dogs are unasthetic
Most dogs contribute nothing
Dogs are alot of work to take care of
Dogs can be aggresive
Dogs smell bad

Why do people like dogs?

Babies check off most of those boxes and we love them, too.

We have documented evidence of relationships/interactions with dogs going back tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of years around camp sites. We've literally been evolving alongside our friend the dog maybe almost as long as we've been homo sapiens.

So the answer is because they're our friends srs.

Babies grow up and become adults, dogs never do.

It's also pretty narcissistic to have an animal that is entirely dependent on you. I think it's an element of control.
