Depends on use.

I love mine to keep track of my strava and heart rate. I don't have to deal with my phone, just start and stop on my watch, and it syncs it to my phone. Cheaper smart watches don't have strava compatibility.

Other than that, I like the stopwatch function, but any $20 smart watch will have that function.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

Right.

Some things where you're using it while active make sense.

If you do active things yeah

Nice to be able to leave my phone in the car or at home when I go on Mtn bike rides and stuff. Can just use my watch to take calls and change music tracks and shiz. Samsung watch BTW but same principals for apple watch.

Some people put them to good use, to some people it's simply just a watch to tell time. Just have to figure out which one you are. If you aren't going to use the types of features that make it a smart watch, don't bother.

Probably not. I just use a Fitbit Versa (which people always confuse for an Apple Watch, it looks identical). Much cheaper, it tracks my heart rate, sleep and workouts, plus it has 7x longer battery life. I only charge it once per week srs.

100% worth it if you want to line the pockets of elite lefties that preach tolerance and compassion while using slave labor in China as those elites enrich themselves further.

And it's especially worth it if you care about emissions so much that you produce a product in China; a country with the worst track record of pollution, ship it to the USA white burning tremendous amounts of fossil fuels, then when the product is beyond its usefulness, have it 'recycled' which entails shipping that defunct product from the USA to the e-wastelands of Ghana using tremendous amounts of fossil fuel again, only to have those devices burned creating even more pollution.

And then as one of those Apple elites, make sure to stand on your multi billion dollar soap box and demand that your fellow American citizens reduce their carbon footprint or face green taxes.

Then yes, it's completely worth it.

Pulling my phone out of my pocket is a pain at times cause it gets stuck, or I'm eating or w/e

I think it'd be useful to check notifications, or reject calls, things like that

Cringe. If you live in modern civilized society pretty much everything is the result of someone's slave labor either directly or indirectly.

You aren't high and mighty because you didn't buy a smart watch cringe lord

I am a watch snob and generally despise them as I find them ugly and redundant for the vast majority of daily wear.

However, I do have an apple watch and I use it as my watch while on vacation. I find it helps keep me off my phone, and gives me freedom from my phone.

The apple watch is hideous. The rectangle design is ugly as sin for a watch.

At least the Samsung watch is round and can use a normal looking watch face as a screen so it can just pass for a normal watch in most cases.

A gigantic point flew over your head. 'High and mighty' - that is the overarching point of my comment. I'm literally calling out the hypocrisy of Apple. Apologies for not being completely direct on my point. Critical thinking is definitely becoming extinct and I need to be more attuned to that fact.

Yes. Love mine. First one I got was Wifi version and felt like a very rudimentary stripped down version of what I do with my phone but the second one I got has LTE and it's had the unintended side effect of re-training my brain to not always be reaching for my phone.

I can still check and reply to emails or texts with voice dictation if I NEED to, I can see if something is important enough to actually need to grab my phone if I need to type out something more than what I'd want to dictate on the watch, no doom scrolling, weather alerts, leave phone in car or at house when I'm going somewhere and have on workout shorts and no pockets, etc.
