Quick FICO question

Hello misc

Last month I had a single balance reported of $122 (total credit line is 90,500 fwiw)

This month I have $0 balance across all my credit cards reported... yet my score dropped 25 points.

Experian score dropped from 823 to 798. Would have thought a zero balance reported would be a good thing, not a bad thing...

Any input on this?

So reporting $0 across the board is a bad thing?

Surprised to see the drastic score drop

Yeah. It’s not good. I’ve heard friends comment as such.

Guessing there's some sort of risk assigned to having so much credit available at once and using none of it.

Check to see if any accounts have auto-closed though, that could explain a change like this

It’s because having an account with zero balance does not indicate your risk if you were to have a balance, having an account with a balance and keeping up with payments does suggest something about your risk.

These are fine details tho, it’s not gonna make a difference if you were to actually apply for more credit
