The Ukrainian government announced a plan to bring in 4.5 million migrant workers from Russian-speaking Central Asian countries after the war, after meeting with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and other key stakeholders. This is to help with the economic recovery after millions of Ukrainians fled the country, with many not planning to return. The countries given as examples of where these migrant workers will come from are Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
