Anybody else just tired of working?!

37, been with this company for 5 years, promoted 4 times, company has treated me great......don't hate the job, relatively like it. Great pay (like almost too good for where I live), work from home, easygoing boss......I'm just tired of doing it.

Feel like I've lost all motivation, only do things if they are absolutely due tomorrow and feel like I'm just doing the bare minimum which isn't like me at all. Keep telling myself that I'll snap out of it, but I'm going on like 6 months of this feeling.

Time to move on or just accept that this is the wagie life? Just feel like I want to be working of projects around the house and other chit that I want to be doing....not chained to my computer all day.

Tell me Im not the only one boyo's.....hold me.

That's probably part of it.....Just spent 4 days at the lake with the family. Tough to come back to reality.

in 5yrs, no matter what the fuk im doing, im out unless the job is 100% wfh.

im done with this chit. tomorrow isnt guaranteed and i got some things i need to do, most notably road trip in a promaster van from ohio thru canada to alaska thru the PNW then back.

to relate to ur situation, about 3ish years ago, i lost a fuk ton of motivation, like almost enough to keep me in bed srs. dont know how tf to get it back or what happened.

The way I see it is that life is incredibly short. Work is the worst part of life (besides death, disease, tragedy, etc.) and it’s a travesty that it consumes the overwhelming majority of our once in eternity time on this planet. 1/3rd of people die before the age of 65. They will never enjoy retirement. An even larger share of the population will retire but get diagnosed with a crippling illness shortly thereafter, leaving little quality of life left for them.

I am not anti-work. Living in a productive society is a wonderful thing. Work gives people dignity, structure and so forth. But I strongly believe we need to cut back on the amount of hours worked. The 9-5 wage slavery lifestyle makes no sense in 2023.

Job is 100% wfh.

I guess Im just bored, not challenged and feeling like I'm getting complacent....and really just want to be able to do things that I (and my family) want to do. That roadtrip sounds awesome.

Im old enough to know "the grass is always greener" though and have really been trying to convince myself and see the positives.

I agree.....but I'm not in the type of situation you're describing.

I'm to the point that I'm only staying for the money & ease if the position. It's too good not......If I were to get a "good paying job" in the area that I live I'd be looking at a 30-50k/year pay cut and I'd have to drive to an office/site every day.

Just feel like I'm "accomplishing" nothing at the end of the day.

Find out what you really need in life, find a way to get it and drop that working chit.

I've been retired almost my entire life and still haven't found a job that inspires me enough to go do it. Granted, was open to playing in the NBA but didn't work out.

Yes, I'm tired of working. Would like to start my own business and work my own hours. Grind hard for 3 weeks, then maybe work 10 on the 4th week.

I went to Minneapolis last weekend for a show. Chicago this weekend for a show. And I'm headed up to Northern Michigan next weekend for a wedding. I didn't take any time off. Can you get away with checking emails on the go?
