Why do some people need so much money when there are so many people starving on the streets?

No, but they should adjust the federal tax brackets a lot IMO.

In 2023 USA, the average wage is about $74k/yr, the median wage is $89k/yr. Sauce: Bureau of Labour and Statistics. Pick one of those two numbers ($74k/yr or $89k/yr) and make that the 20% cut off for tax brackets.

Current tax bracket is 12% for $11k+, 22% for $45k+, 24% for $95k+, 32% for $182k+, and 35% for $231k+. Instead it should pull from the super wealthy more IMO.

I propose adding a higher tax level, and being kinder to the lower earners, like the following: 10% for $15k+, 15% for $50k+, 20% for say $89k+ (median income), 25% for $150k+, 35% for $300k+, and 45% for $2m+.

We say no because we want to protect the idea of capitalism but the way we apply capitalism makes it not capitalism.

People should be able to have money, but that money should not give them the power to buy our government and exploit the lower classes for selfish personal gain.

Broadly I agree with the concept, middle class should be taxed a bit less and very wealthy a LOT more. Also need large sales taxes on high end luxury goods.

What commies don't seem to understand is that when everyone is rich, no one is rich. When everyone is poor, then everyone is poor, lol. Except for the elite, of course. Spreading the wealth will not let the poverty minded person thrive. A few years (even months) from now they'll be back to where they started. People need goals and something to strive for, otherwise they become docile and braindead. Achieving success and living in prosperity is bliss. Only then do you understand that many must live in poverty for you to thrive and you'll no longer QQ about the poor. No one is stopping them from achieving financial independence, though. Anyone who wants there to be no more poverty is deluding themselves. There's no way most would ever give up their security and/or comfort so that the poorcels would have a better way of life. Let's be more realistic here.

You're conflating income with wealth. The wealthy basically do not have income. What you're suggesting is taxing successful professionals who own sole proprietorship businesses or are doctors, lawyers, senior government officials, and successful high-salary employees more, while none of these people are "super wealthy".

Every dollar over a certain amount, maybe $10 million, is taxed at a 90% rate or something.

So, you earn $10mil, you're taxed normally. Once you earn $10mil + 1 dollar, that 1 dollar is taxed at 90%. Everything after that 10mil is taxed at 90%.
