Are you a HomeDepot or Lowe's crew ?
Lowe's crew here, overall a bit pricier than HD but better customer service , cleaner isles, has most things in stock. Minor billing issues at times when purchasing big items, less day laborer's hanging outside but i prefer them over HD. What crew are you in ?

Used to be a Lowe's guy but the local store gradually started going downhill (prelockdowns) and hasn't really recovered. Prefer HD now but that could change.

I hate them both. Feels like I'm walking through a prison with all the low class inkies and angry tradies roaming the isles. I park in the back so some red neck's monster truck tires aren't blocking my car door when I get back.
Home depot has better chit but lowes is less hectic and more convenient for me.

I prefer Ace.
They tend to have a little more unique inventory and have better luck finding random chit there.

Home Depot for foundational stuff (studs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc), and Lowe's for finishing products (Tile, shower/bath/sink fixtures, etc).
Home Depot's return policy is superb to Lowe's

Why not both!
Lowe’s has consumer and residential products. When it comes to certain products, Lowe’s can offer some higher end parts. HD offers more commercial and industrial products. For instance, when it comes to tools, HD sells high end stuff, but when it comes to replacement toilet parts, they carry more contractor grade items. Contractor parts are generally cheaper.
They both offer a different assortment of products based on their customers. I like HD for more of my projects and tools, but will shop at both when looking for things like ceiling fans, appliances, light fixtures…

ACE
Unless it is for something that they don't really carry.
Lowe's is nicer...they have prettier stuff and there is often a cart or two of plants on markdown in the nursery.
Home Depot may be the last place to purchase cheap 6 packs of bedding plants, though they are only available for short periods of time and in limited selection.
I think I might find more Oops markdown paint at HD. When I'm hunting I try everywhere though.

What’s more, it was “not part of any required companywide training.”
Was going to boycott HD until I read their statement. Can't blame an entire company for what one branch does.

Home depot is much closer and seems much cheaper too so I go there. Closest Lowes is like 15 miles away so no need for that.
