It's autumn in 1 week. Let that sink in, boyos.

I'm not sure about everyone else on here, but I find that the summer just melted away this year. We didn't have much of a summer here anyways. It was really wet and rainy. At some point, I didn't water my gardens for a good two months because it was always raining. Crops didn't grow so well this year.

I just realized autumn is in 1 week. Even though I definitely miss summer, I've always been an autumn-cel. Autumn is particularly beautiful in this part of the world. Gonna be doing a lot of hanging out outdoors, hiking in the mountains, try to get back into painting, training with the garage door open, etc.

Same. Seems like it's not real yet. I wake up and it's 12C outside. Hard to believe.

Big fan.

Spring is stormy and sometimes hot here. Summer is just plain hot and hotter.

I'm relieved that we seem to have finally seen the end of trips...110 degrees on the 8th.

Mind we won't be breaking out sweaters or jackets any time soon...

We had this odd heat wave 2 weeks ago over here. It was something like 38C with the humidity (like 100F). It was like this odd last ditch effort on summer's part to not let go.

What are some peoples' preferred fall activities here? Always looking to create some more variety in my life, try knew things.

I've been working towards making more fall-oriented meals. Gonna go apple and pumpkin picking soon.

We've had an odd summer here in the UK, some hot spells in may then June was hot and sunny everyday, july was a complete washout, like you I didnt water any plants for ages, august got better towards the end and last week we had a heatwave.

I'm always ready for autumn come the end of summer but once all the leaves have dropped off I miss the summer heat. I like the build up to christmas but once we hit the new year January February and March suck and i'm longing for spring.

Sounds very similar to our experience here in maple syrup land over the summer. I feel the same way about winter coming around. I think that's always the dread that unfortunately accompanies the beauty of autumn. If life a were perpetual summer/fall cycle it would be wondrous. Winters here are long, cold, and brutal.

The best time of year, other than hurricane season is still going. The weather is showing signs of cooling here of late. Today will be a hot day but after that the forecast has cooler temps in the morning and average temperatures in the afternoon. I can't wait. It has been a hot humid summer.

What temps do you get down to where you are? I've always wanted to experience a real winter, where I live we haven't had any snow for two years.

I'm praying the siberian winds blow east and freeze the whole country.

It can easily go down to -35C at the height of winter. It's been -40 before. Add a crazy wind chill on some days and your eyeballs literally freeze in your eye sockets as you exit the house. Snots freeze in your nose. Skin begins to burn.
