The whole "happy to be childless" fad might be the biggest cope I've ever seen

Especially for women (who, ironically, are the biggest proponents of it).

However, this doesn't include people who want kids but can't have them (infertility). That is just extremely sad, and cruel, and I feel terrible for those people. Life is f*cked up.

This is for the people who are "childfree" completely by choice and brag about it like it's something to be hugely proud of. A great example is the childfree sub on reddit. It is pathetic. Like look at this chick:

The cope is insane. This isn't happiness. This is misery and a complete lack of meaning.

Some people legit don't want them (and it's silly to assume that absolutely 100% of people want the same thing in life), but if you have to brag/glorify/whatever (seek validation for it) like the people you're talking about then...those people are COPEing.

I dunno me and my gf been together about 14 years. No kids no marriage.

Works great for us. Very stress free lifestyle for the most part.

I'll probably regret it when I'm old af and need someone to take care of me but I'll worry about that when it happens.

I don't need kids to find meaning in life lol. I have plenty of happiness just existing and being care free. Im a man child and I don't really care to grow up and seek a lifetime of responsibility that comes with kids.

Aside from all that I wouldn't raise kids in America today. This country is pure chit. If I started a family I would need to relocate to somewhere that my kids won't need bulletproof backpacks to go to school.

It's not something I take pride in, or go around preaching about. To each their own. I have friends who are very happy with kids. And some who aren't.

A lot of these concepts about family or fatherhood only applies to people who are normies and desire it. It doesn't really work for people like me who are more autistically inclined. Pretty much nothing that the world told me would bring me happiness or purpose actually did those things. The reason why I never talk about kids is because I don't care either way. If you have them, good. If you don't have them, good. You won't see me making cope threads about how happy I am that the misc is basically my social life at this point. I make threads about video games, because that makes me happy or threads to inspire miscers or make them think about grander concepts than just the desires of the flesh. Not that there's anything wrong with sexy time.

Many children forget their parents even exist when they become old enough. Doesn't matter how well the parents took care of their kids. Parents generally take care of their children, not the other way around. My dad hates taking money from us, even though he is technically retired.

Split on this. Did always want kids, but more recently with it being summer, the sound of screaming kids outside just goes through me. Could be in a supermarket also where some brat is jumping around, throwing a tantrum and the mother just does nothing. They're just not pleasant to be around are they lol.

We don’t want kids, but people who make it their personality are super cringe. The loudest people are always the weakest and most insecure.

We just brush it off, but definitely don’t gloat or try to bring it up ever.

Literally 100% of people are biologically wired to want to procreate and have/raise kids. Denying that is just pure cope.

You think 100% of people would be happier to have kids, and that ones who don't want them should have them anyway because of "muh biological imperative"?

30 and kidless currently

Still very open about having kids

But I'm definitely not out gloating and raving about being childless

If I remain childless so be it . If I have children so be it.

I'm not sure what process is going on in people's heads to not want kids. I bet a lot of people would be a lot happier than they could imagine if they had an unexpected kid and decided to keep it. Surely some of them wouldn't be. Then there's also a group who I bet will regret it when they're older.

I never cared either way but something changes when you have a kid. It's like a switch flipped from being a self serving type of dude to living for something more important. I think kids mellow people out and make them kinder, unless they're complete narcissists.

You've seriously never spoken to people who have kids, but regret it? What about those parents who give their children up for adoption or mothers who dump their babies into trash cans without a single thought. What about parents who abuse and/or kill their children. I've spoken and seen so many crazies in this world that it's better off if most people don't reproduce. In my teens I used to frequent chatrooms and around the age of 14 I befriended a girl who turned out to be an 8 yo who was abused by her mother. She seemed cold and distant and spoke more maturely than any kid her age should be, so much so that at first I assumed she was someone older but was pretending. The father wasn't around, the mother was a crazy bish. Yeah, strong parenting or desire to have children everywhere, lol.

I can respect the decision to not have kids because this world is completely fuked, but without having any as a middle age adult what’s the point of anything?

Why work?
Why try?

Not much point imo if you have no one to worry about and take care of.

Why do you care? It doesn't effect you in the least bit if they don't have kids and you don't know these people nor will you ever meet them.

The only reasonable explanation I can think of why someone would look down on childless adults is jealousy. Are you jealous OP?

This is a product of terrible parenting. You can't compare kids that haven't had any effort/attention/discipline in their life and those that have.

I’m 31 and never had the desire to have kids. Just doesn’t mean anything to me. Plus I hate real responsibility. Being in management at work is enough, I can’t imagine if I had to leave that at 4:30 in the afternoon every day and then go home to a house with kids screaming and needing attention. It sounds like misery. I can just go out and rip my Charger down some back roads when I’m bored or drink 4 beers on a Wednesday night while watching YouTube if I want and it doesn’t matter. No one needs me or relies on me for emotional or financial support and it’s awesome. I’m like a perpetual teenager really. Can’t imagine that level of responsibility on my shoulders at all times.

Plus they’re expensive as ****. I make 80K a year and feel like a brokie. If I had 2 kids and a house I’d have to apply for food stamps. I don’t know how people justify it honestly.

Kids can be really selfish, is that what you're referring to? Adults often are, too, but at least with the kids there's some hope they'll grow out of it, lol. Mine just seem like normal kids to me - sometimes sweet, sometimes selfish. I think they're doing fine on the whole.

Agree with you and Jms89 above, too. Having kids can really help a person become a kinder, more selfless person, but that isn't guaranteed.

Yeah man. Let me pop out some kids so he can turn into a dorky, misc incel like 90% of this site. Eff that noise. I just want a life partner to share experiences with. I don't need a kid to find fulfillment, especially since I can't even live my own life fully with them tying me down.

Brb, have to think twice about expenses, career moves, vacations, etc. because of little imbeingcereal and how it'd effect him.
Brb, wife and I can't take meaningful jobs and are tied to slaving away in Corporate America because of the kid
Brb, kid grows up to be an incel, hates me bc I don't agree with what Tik-Tok says, etc. so it ends up being a waste of time/money anyway

I'm 33 and vids, drugs, and partying has become a little stale for me. I long for some responsibility and more to do in this world.

People going on about endless chores and being afraid of work and responsibilities sound like 10 year old girls lmao.
