Why do people focus so much more on income than net worth. Net worth and age imo best marker of making it. Making a big income and consooooooming doesnt make you a winner

Also important information is your COL. 100k in Omaha and 100k in NYC is completely different lifestyles

lol people lie about income too. For ex: include their best bonus year ever, or highest commission month ever, in their total and round up.

When comparing billionaires sure NW can be misled. But if you are looking at 2 people NW is a far better metric than income. Income is a one year flashpoint in time. NW is culmination of everything. NW also captures not just their income but spending habits and investing habits.

I have a greater NW than many people I work with who make more than me. In no world would I trade places with them
