I was in Charlotte for a few hours. Too many black people for my liking. Raleigh has less black people but not sure if less enough.

Was born there, and my family is from there.
It really depends on what part of the state.
The coast is pretty redneck and gets some terrible storms. Hurricanes are a real issue there.
The middle/south is pretty ghetto. Fayetteville is probably one of the worst cities on the east coast. Not many whites, and the whites that are there are either military or country bumpkin as fak.
The mountains are pretty cool.
Raleigh area is great, but it has become very expensive over the past 15 years. Used to be the GOAT city in the southeast. It had a great wage-to-COL ratio. That ratio has taken a beating and has gotten even worse since COVID.
All in all, it's not a bad state, but it's the south, meaning if you don't like hurricanes, humidity, loblolly pines, black people, or old school southern ways, you're going to hate the place.

NC is GOAT for the United States. Will soon be the 3rd or 4th most populated state because the secret is obviously out.
bbq, sweet tea, mountains, beaches, southern accents, 4 seasons...you don't really need much else.
