I think fans should strike over lack of good movies/shows over the last ten years, I actually think the only actor that should be allowed to make movies right now is Tom Cruise, I think he should star in every movie.

I could not give a flying Phuck about their demands or what they want since 99% of the content they put out is propagandist ****e.

Hopefully this strike will go on long enough to wipe out a few of the worst offending shows that should have been off air years ago.

In the meantime we have decades of classic movies and shows, live sport, youtube, foreign stuff like Japanese and k drama and vidya games and books.

Nobody with a brain is missing 2023 Hollywood productions, in fact I hope this strike goes on for YEARS.

I really don't have it in me to care whatsoever. 95% of what Hollywood/the entertainment industry in general has churned out over the past 20+ years has been such utter trash that it might as well be robots writing the concepts/scripts behind it all.

long and short of it is, because streaming services like netflix and even networks that have created their own streaming services (like HBO Max and Peacock) does not have commercials the actors and writers are getting paid chit wages. These aren't once per day or once per week checks these are monthly checks.

and you can mock them all you want because they're just actors, but they're still doing a "job" Its the equivalent of a restaurant offering a $3/hr minimum wage, but they don't get to keep the money from tips.





The studios WANT them to make movies, its the actors that have stopped. The only reason why we're getting a sequel to the newest Mission Impossible is because the movie is already in post-production. If it was still in the shooting stages it would probably be shelved for the forseeable future because Cruz would refuse to work as he is also on the side of the Actors.

We've got until about February or March of next year when hollywood starts running out of new series and movies to release.

Thats how being an actor/musician works. You do a job once and receive royalties every time the song or movie is played.

an engineer doesn't make money everytime someone walks into a building because their face or their performance of making the building isn't what is being sold unlike an actor.

They get paid well for doing their job. They signed the contract and did what they were paid for. A residual is a bonus that almost no one else in the world gets. They should quit crying if they don't like it and get another job.

It works supposedly like software. You write the program once, but get paid everytime someone buys it.


You write or act in a film once, but every time it is shown or streamed, someone is paying for it, so you get a small percentage of that.

Basically, a bunch of entitled people think they're entitled to earn lots of money for working in the entertainment industry, regardless of the quality of their work, and they think having to go and work a regular job like most people to make money is beneath them.

Personally, i don't think much is lost if they stop making 'entertainment' for a while, majority of it plays a large part in the current degradation of our culture anyway, and old stuff is nearly always better.For something she did a decade ago, and had an extremely minor part in, and was already paid for, and we're sposed to feel sorry for her like she's hard done by lol. She has a net worth of 6 million and we're sposed to feel bad about it, while majority of the population have to think about whether they can afford meat or not this month lol.
