PBD Christian vs Muslim Discussion

No cliffs as I'm only 30ish mins in but found it interesting
Gotta say, PBD has been neutral though as a Christian so hats off to him in this so far

watched the whole thing out of curiosity and the christians got cucked hard IMO. i don't know if it's just who they picked but that one moroccan christian guy kept being super emotional and going on weird tangents

omg they picked the wrong two guys to debate with holy chit, that one muzzy dude is a harvard graduate and I've seen some of his videos / debates since I've been looking into theology and he absolutely gets flawless victory on every one that goes up against him

The reason why Muslims almost always win these debates is because they have one book, and they are taught it and basically memorize from when they are a child. They have one coherent religion as a foundation, so the understanding of it is simplified.

Christianity has 1,000 different sects, beliefs and creeds. Some say certain phrases are metaphors, some say they are realities, some say the bible is 100% metaphorical, and other's say it is 100% truth. None of them actually follow it though. It has made them completely disillusioned with their own textual understanding of the book. When they decided to make the trinity the focus on their religions and made a huge push for the trinity starting a few decades ago, it crushed them. Something never said in the bible, something unexplainable and told is a mystery of God will always lose in a debate.

Sad state of affairs for Chrisitans. I root for them. I used to call myself a Christian. But man they're broken. As soon as I was at church on Easter and they turned it into a concert that raised a monumental sized speaker system in the shape of a cross as the giant rock band came out to do their Jesus songs, I knew it was over.

I mean that same issue was reiterated through the debate...was God one day okay with the laws of the OT and all of a sudden they aren't applicable? How is it that the people who lived pre-Jesus somehow had laws like this and today, somehow, we are all saved because he took care of it all?
Even in the NT, it states that the laws shall not be abolished and if anyone even removes a jot from the law, he will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:18 onwards).

Don't forget Christmas, when I found out about that it blew my mind, but it made so much sense. Never appears in the Bible, neither does Santa Claus. Basically a re-dressed Saturnalia. I was doing some reading on a non-Trinitarian Christian site and they were going OFF on Christmas.

There's a push to infiltrate Islam to try liberalizing it, I don't think it will be very successful. I think the only ones who are going to buy into it are the people who are genuinely more accepting of liberalism rather than the faith they claim. I think it's the same deal with Christian Orthodox nations as well, they're not budging.

They can work together well. Sorry for Reddit, but there was a big thread about the "1 Million March 4 Children." Muslims and Christians and others against clown world marched together.

The comments were somewhat demoralizing, though. Many Muslims in the thread felt they were being used by "far right" Christians or somehow shouldn't be teaming up with them. I can somewhat understand the points about working with people who are Islamophobic, but I'm guessing many of the Muslims are Christianphobic, also.

It's hard for me to understand how Muslims don't align themselves more with right-wing politics, in general, when they are both often anti clown world.

I also think a lot of Christians would be completely surprised at how much they have in common with Muslims if they would drop some misconceptions and research it more, and read the Quran. srs

OT says to not be like those who decorate trees (Jeremiah 10). Idk if that's a reference to the pagan ritual, Saturnalia. They had a celebration around the winter solstice which falls around the same time as Christmas which I think it is from.

Yeah, agreed. Honestly I've found very few, but fundamental differences between them. I think the sentiment of being used by the far right is probably some left over half life from that particular incident in 2001 which was followed by them being turned into the boogeymen of that time. That aside, they seem to be about as right wing as it gets, but if it conflicts with the religion, then they're not with it, which I can say is admirable, it's a constant in their lives and no matter what ups and downs they have, the religion is solid. The more I've looked into theology the more sense it has made, srs. Wait till you see the videos with the mathematics, holy chit. Mind blowing srs.

Very close, the ritual of decorating the trees and also putting a wreath on the door comes from pagans in the northern lands, if I remember correctly. They'd light one of the evergreens on fire to protect their harvest from the evil spirits, or something and the wreath, which was made from the evergreen was placed on doors, to keep out evil spirits as well. Whereas the gift giving, drunkenness and generally hedonism are from the Roman pagans / Saturnalia. The church wanted to bring in as many people into the fold of Christianity so they basically sold their religion out to pagans, just so that the pagans would call themselves Christian. Been a while, so I might be off here and there, but generally, that's the origin of Christmas, has absolutely zero to do with Christ.

Takes education to eliminate it. I've chatted with people that don't even know we believe in Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him).

I'll take it a step further, we don't align with right or left, rather we are Muslim. The left loves us for our 'color' and 'diversity' and gives them a bigger sense of inclusion but they hate our actual values. The right can agree with our ideas of family, religion, etc. but it's the wrong religion.

We Muslims won't allow ourselves to become sacrificial pawns in a game of politics far above what we stand for. We have to be smart...cannot sacrifice our values and neither sacrifice our existence. We've become 'The canary in the proverbial coal mine' and cannot remain like that as the saying goes, the canary goes first.

Stems from I think Nordic countries. They would believe that the pine tree had some powers because everything else around died that time of year.

I think it's more the Pagans saw that Christians were strong to their faith so they started adopting the religion but kept many hidden elements of paganism embedded in the religion (like Christmas). Even Easter stems from a Paganism (Eostre).
