USA's Total Personal Savings Plummeted From Nearly 3 Trillion to 686 Billion

sauce:https://www.statista.com/statistics/...gh%20in%202021.

In 2020 the total value of personal savings in USA was $2.992 Trillion. Fast forward to 2022 and it's down to $686 Billion. This is lower than the $1.447 Trillion from 2019, sending us back to around 2009-2010 era.

I saw a chart in a video that stated that the projected total savings for September 2023 is about $198 billion. Unsure how accurate that is, as I couldn't find much 2023 data on this topic from a good source, but it's a shockingly low number. Meanwhile corporation profits are at or near all-time highs.

Meanwhile inflation/real-estate/groceries/"everything" is going up in cost. And it's just in time for student loans to turn back on.

Even if you cut out the massive stimmie bump years that is pretty disturbing. Also considering the wage growth that supposedly happened. Biggest wealth transfer in history thanks to inflation?

Now do consumer debt

Giving illegals money and spending power is legit the only thing we can do to keep the castle of cards from falling.

Or another pandemic/bailout or similar fake creation of wealth for people to spend. There is no recovering from slashing real value / production / closing businesses down while simultaneously creating fake representation of value/printing money and handing to consumers.

Wouldn't the CEO's lining their pockets just go into savings as well? So how does it really drop that much? Feels like it would be a 0 sum game in the end. The plebs of society lose their savings and give it to the 1 percenters but those 1 percenters would just put it right back in savings, right???

Not sure I understand how there's a huge swing like that. The median savings per individual might change but the total should not go up and down so drastically.

Trump and Biden signed off on giving corporations roughly $6 trillion in two years. Of course this destroyed the middle class.

I’m actually really excited to answer this!

You see savings filled up from all the money handed out because people weren’t working and companies weren’t producing. This money replaced people’s typical earnings for “value produced”. But they didn’t produce anything of value.

The reason we needed that to go out was so that people could still spend. Which they did and this went towards operating companies which were producing nothing but could still pay people to jack off from home and stay employed or sit around their empty restaurants etc.. so the wheels keep running but nothing of value is again being produced.

Now it’s time to recapitalize consumers once again but many companies are just floating by on debt which is why Wall Street is presssuring the fed so hard on rates. These companies don’t produce anything of value and exist only because market conditions didn’t matter when everything was just handed out. It’s the reason so many places have terrible staffing/products etc.. but are still somehow around.

All that money didn’t go into the 1% bank account. It went into bullchit companies to piss away while they try to keep their stocks from plummeting (where the 1% actually have the money, they own all the economy). They are invested in keeping this giant pile of chit known as NASDAQ from plummeting, instead it needs to always get bigger.

So they will find a way to recapitalize everyone including all the new editions to our populace, with handouts, they will spend it in bullchit companies completely out of sync with reality of a free market (they should be bankrupt not get bailouts) and the stock market will reach all time highs, but your paychecks will barely be able to get you what you need. And what you need probably won’t even be available.

So no money didn’t go towards anyone’s savings, it went to prop up this fake bullchit economy.

They aren’t “taking your money”. They are putting everyone else out of business and monopolizing business ownership, while devaluing currency.

could be a good thing, consumers help the economy, just need things backing the spending

TFW things backing the spending doesn’t get room to grow because decrepit old money sitting on top is “systemically important”

How many American companies would go under if places like goldmans wasn’t allowed to be 100 x leveraged. How much bullchit companies do systemically important Wall Street firms support just cuz the algorithm told them “this is how you get all the Monopoly money”

The whole thing isn’t based on reality anymore it’s based off weird math games put out by algorithms then hammered into being by people who just want the most money they can get.

And literally no one cares.

Gotdamn things are gonna be bad. We haven’t even come close to hitting the bottom of our next(actually, current) recession, and savings are already at levels they were at immediately AFTER the Great Recession wiped out so much. Just need to go ahead and hit WWIII to see who emerges victorious so we can get into the first turning. This fourth turning sh!t is getting old.

For the unaware.

While studying history back in the 1990s, Neil Howe and the late William Strauss noticed something: there seemed to be a pattern to history that repeated itself again and again. Howe and Strauss developed a theory that history moves in 80-100-year cycles divided into four 20-25-year "turnings": the High, Awakening, Unraveling, and Crisis.

Neil Howe argues that we are currently living through a Fourth Turning, and today on the show, we unpack what that means. Neil is a historian, demographer, and economist, and his latest book is The Fourth Turning Is Here. The crisis of the Fourth Turning isn't a historical event — it's a generation-long era that sometimes seems to be getting better, sometimes seems to be getting worse, and moves through several phases before reaching a climax and resolution. Neil explains what these phases look like, which ones we've already been through and which are still to come, and when he thinks our Fourth Turning will end and the cycle of history will start over. In the second part of our conversation, Neil talks about what cultural changes he thinks we'll experience as the Fourth Turning progresses, including how he thinks gender roles will shift. We also discuss what happens if the crisis ends in disaster, and the most important thing to do to successfully navigate a Fourth Turning.

How much money do you think people like Elon Musk and Bill Gates have in savings vs what they have in stocks, land, corporations, etc.? In other words, they don’t take all those profits and put them in savings, they expand their influence and wealth via acquisition of other entities, goods, land, etc.

Almost every metric besides unemployement is a dumpster fire and no one on TV or the White House will address it. The economic gas lighting by the Government is off the charts.
