Finasteride brahs. How important is DHT really in a grown man?

I ordered Finasteride and its sitting infront of me but i cant bring myself to take it yet.

Same chit happened 10 years ago when i was trying to quit smoking, i got champex and never took it, and years later it was found to cause cancer in people.

Im against taking medication in general. I dont believe unless absolutely necessary to take, it has more negative effects than positive effects.

Heres my dilemma- the reaper IS taking its due right now. And it is now or never to save my hair. I dont want to save my hair forever i plan on going full Joe rogan/Dana white in my 50s, i jist dont want to be a bald 35 year old.

How important is DHT in the grown male body exactly? I dont want to fukk myself up over my hair. What exactly is happening in your body when you take finasteride?

Ive read online that DHT is useless after puberty, and ive also read that its the MOST important hormone in your body... so what the fukk.

Any tips from smarter medical brahs than i am are appreciated.

Why didnt you just use the HIMS topical finasteride minox spray for the scalp? I heard it works quicker and better

I took Finasteride and it fukked me up, my memory has still never been the same.

DHT is supposed to help with your libido and happiness or something its probably why when I was on finasteride I was depress and thinking negative thoughts and had insomnia

it also messed with my libido

Ive been taking Fin for about 8 months now. I was worried about all the side effects too and just figured if I got any that I would stop taking it. So far no negative sides. I felt like I lost muscle and maybe gained weight at the beginning, but I think that was just me as those don’t seem that common. Now Im back to where Im happy though. The hair gains have been slightly noticeable, but really not much. I do think it has definitely slowed down any further hairloss though. Good luck boyo

I'm not on finasteride but have considered it. Here's a few things I've learned:

Everyone will react differently. Most guys will have literally 0 tangible side effects.

In blocking the conversion from Testosterone to DHT, many men will see total Testosterone increase. If you're trying to build muscle finasteride likely won't reduce your muscle or hurt gains. You may actually see improvements.

DHT is an androgen. By reducing it, there's a chance you'll reduce sex drive, and may have ED. These are the most common side effects and are pretty significant IMO. Some report they go away after a while, some say it's permanent.

You have to weigh if you're willing to risk better hair for sexual side effects or ED.

If you lower your DHT too much you'll lose muscle and feel like sh!t. I'm a high DHT converter from test, but it just gives me acne. I started taking vitamin B5 and it immediately cleared my acne. (Super Ded Fkn Srs)

I took finasteride for a while and I've been on dutasteride for years. I still have a sex drive. I still workout hard. I still have a good physique. I have a wife and a baby on the way. Just take it and forget about it. Or don't and embrace baldness.

Anyone on here saying fin/dut is the devil hasn't even taken it. Guaranteed.

I have this dilemma.. It really is difficult, if no sides, great but if you're one of the unlucky minority that gets permanent sides, you're gonna wish to god you never took it.

Being bald really can effect facial aesthetics though... What to do ay...

DHT is highly androgenic, meaning erections, sex drive, strength, aggression, masculinity.

It’s also somewhat anti-estrogenic.

Only way to know if you’ll be affected is to try it, but might be worth doing topical finasteride before trying oral.

Also, any blockage of DHT causing an indirect rise in total test will only cause that test to be;

A) Converted to estrogen via aromatase
B) Bound up by SHBG

I also want to take Fin but I had a blood test done and found that my DHT levels are at the lower end of normal, so I’m at a loss.

Start micro needling and using minoxidil.

Those 2 combos will get you through with hair until your 50s.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

I've been on it for about 10 years no without a single side effect, net positive for me.

- Hair intact, almost immediately ceased any further hair loss.
- Skin improved big time, I almost NEVER break out.
- Giga-bonrz
- No strength loss, no muscle loss.
- No memory fog

Side effects are experienced by the vast, greater minority and even further, those who continue to experience side effects even after stopping use are in an even greater minority.

Make sure that the FIN you have is actually FIN, I don't know if you got them online, but I'd hope for your sake it is from a highly reputable source. I went to my dermatologist and got the prescription.

I don't use Minox in any form and I highly recommend you stay away from LDOM (low dose oral Minoxidil) - the side effects of oral Minoxidil can literally kill you. Topical Minoxidil is fine and it works if you want to deal with putting that chit on your scalp every day, day in, day out.

DHT is utterly useless after puberty. DHT for those prone to male pattern baldness due to follicular sensitivity to DHT, makes your hair fall out of your scalp, it causes body hair growth everywhere else, causes acne, so basically takes away what you want and gives you what you don't want in exchange.

-------------------

Consider where your family genetics are, if your father is a Norwood 7 (horse shoe pattern) and it all falls out, you better be ready to get body hair implanted to supplement grafts from the safe area. If your father is a Norwood 1 or 2, you are probably safe to just get a hair transplant after it falls out and you can call it a day, no FIN and no Minox needed.

If you're a Norwood 7 and you let it all go, prepare for numerous hair transplants and a lot of grafts. I saved my hair and didn't end up requiring big jobs.

Do your research so you're well informed, but if you lose your hair, it zaps your confidence and you'll see a difference in how people regard you. I know a lot of good looking people with hair...but they don't have the bone structure for a baldy.

Basically, if you don't look like DeadlyStriker, you're probably fukked if you go bald.

Keep in mind, there is a LOT of fear mongering with Fin and there are law firms chomping at the bit for a big lawsuit because it = big money for them, so they would benefit from fear mongering.

Go look at Haircafe's videos on youtube, he provides evidence and a strong case for Fin.

In the end, it's up to you, but for me, I told myself that if I went bald, then the ability to get a boner isn't doing me any favors.

Again, about 10 years, no problems.

EDIT: forgot one side effect...bitch tits, not even once. srs

OP, take opinions for simply what they are. Some on of the people on here that are saying: "dur, I had no side (a)ffects so its 100% safe, no matter what the research shows" should not be taken too seriously.

Any long term medicine is a big choice. Research as much as you can and see if you can take a smaller dose first to see how you react. Good luck.

I read the Topical spray finasteride causes people to get groggy and tired eyes too, yeah the only thing is hope you can afford a 50 thousand dollar top of the line hair transplant FUE.

I stopped taking Finasteride pills cause it fukked me up bad, and my memory has never been the same and last time I took the pills was 9 years ago.

The guys who claim they had no sides are guys who get sides but deal with them for vanity

every steroid user has sides, they get heart palpitation, insomnia, and other issues but will just deal with it for the vanity

Most steroid users aren't users, they're abusers. Those side effects don't happen quite often to users who use it medically to have adequate numbers. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

You just gotta try that cream already, you are not safe from either but some people dont experience sides maybe you are the lucky one?

You still have high chance of getting sides from the topical stuff, most people get insomnia, tiredness, head ache, baggy eyes from the sprays.

The only thing you can try that works if you have MODERATE or slow progression hairloss not severe is the Derma roller twice a month and use Nizoral shampoo.

If you got aggressive balding you cant use that it wont work, you wll need the pills, the only other option is hair restoration

I tried fin once. Popped a pill one evening, woke up next morning and I had an irresistible urge to watch ghey pron. I fapped all day to it, couldn't get it out my mind. Over the course of 6 months the feeling started to die off. I'd never recommend fin, it fks your hormones up and turns you gay.
Thanks for reading.

I was one fin ten years ago

I got a presription online, I took the prescription to my local walgreens and thats where I got the pills

I remember taking it and one thing I noticed is one of my nuts had a slight pain in it, then I got super horny, after several weeks my skin was softer, no acne either and less body hair.

but then I started getting insomnia, also sensitive nipples and brain fog, so I cut the pills in half and took half a pill ever day.

The stuff worked I was able to maintain what I had, but I couldn't deal with the side effects, I couldn't sleep and had bad memory issues and depression it was bad.

now I got that Jude Law hairline and will need a transplant

but you are correct, im losing hair on my head and now getting ear hair, and nipple hair and more body hair that likely due to DHT.

Sadly if your hairloss is aggressive, most reputable surgeons won’t operate unless you’re on fin.

Don't take the pills, You can try the topical, accept the baldness or go transplant.
