Do I move somewhere new

My only friends are like an hour away in Portland
My brother and his family live close to me

I kinda hate Oregon and want to move to Raleigh, Nashville, SLC, Texas, or Florida, but I wouldn't know anyone in any of those places.

Do I risk what I have for possibly having even less social interactions (or hopefully more)?

Also have a super low mortgage rate that I’d lose unless I looked into a property manager renting my house.

Reps for SRS advice. Negs for trolls unless it’s lulzy.

I'm gonna retire in Ibiza or Barcelona, don't waste time living somewhere you're not happy.

This is probably one of the most important decisions ever and I'm in a similar boat.

Stay outside of any major city. Really think about what YOU want for your future. Are you and your friends close? Are you and your family close? Are you looking to get married and start a family in the near future?

Crime is going to SOAR the next several years. The further away from those zones the better. Think about what states you are thinking of moving to have the best gun and protection laws. I'd stay away from states that are near the mexico border. Also what about COL? What sort of income will you generate?

I personally think SLC or Raleigh might be the best options from what you posted. Florida is getting overrun and overpriced as everyone started moving there. Same with Texas, plus the immigration issues.

Just some food for thought. You can make friends anywhere if you put the effort in.

I’ve thought about that, but further from city means harder to make friends, play soccer (must have for whenever I move), meet dateable women, etc.

Raleigh is top of my list right now, but I’ve never been haha

I'm a soccer player too haha. Trust me you can find soccer everywhere.

You don't have to move into the sticks. Just a good distance from a major city. You can probably find safer neighorhoods around 45 min. to an hour away too. Although I think Raleigh and SLC aren't like Chicago, NY, LA, ATL, etc. So you'd be fine closer to them.

I've been to Raleigh. Why tf would any sane person would want to move there? It's like if you take the hipster parts of Brooklyn, NYC and jampack it tight within an area and the surrounding area is hood. I remember walking one time at night downtown Raleigh and just 1 block over I was like WTF and knew I had to get out lmao.

Better than living 45 min. away from chicago and having blacks drive around in stolen vehicles taking pictures of houses that they may target soon for car jackings.

Good times.

Idk seems like a more right-leaning city in a good part of the country with stuff to do. Is it ghetto? Or what? Crime seems relatively low there.

I think my biggest issue right now is the "city" I live in is like 170k, and only 400k people in the "metro". And then you add that half the people are liberal, Oregon fukheads (there's a difference between normal libs and Oregon libs). Also, no outdoor soccer without driving 40 mins, which means half the people I meet live far away.

If you want to send a rescue convoy before the 10th I’m open to negotiating about it. I know living is cheap there. It’s just I’m sure you know all about the obscene nature of gc activities and unreasonable shenanigans being that?

I took a pill in Ibiza to show Avicii I was cool
And when I finally got sober, felt 10 years older
But **** it, it was something to do
I'm living out in LA, I drive a sports car just to prove
I'm a real big baller 'cause I made a million dollars
And I spend it on girls and shoes

[Chorus]
But you don't wanna be high like me
Never really knowing why like me
You don't ever wanna step off that roller coaster
And be all alone
You don't wanna ride the bus like this
Never knowing who to trust like this
You don't wanna be stuck up on that stage singing
Stuck up on that stage singing

All I know are sad songs, sad songs
Darling, all I know are sad songs, sad songs

How did this turn out to be the way it is

I'm just a singer who already blew his shot
I get along with old timers
'Cause my name's a reminder of a pop song people forgot
And I can't keep a girl, no
'Cause as soon as the sun comes up
I cut 'em all loose and work's my excuse
But the truth is I can't open up
