Beavercel smoke is fukking up FL air

Are you seeing a haze in the sky? Smoke from Canada wildfire sweeping across Florida

Does it seem hazy outside to you?

You're not seeing things.

Smoke from a wildfire in Quebec, Canada, south of the Hudson Bay, has made it all the way down to east central Florida, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, triggering air quality alerts and advisories around the state.

The Environment Protection Agency's AirNow map shows "unhealthy" levels of air quality from Palm Coast south to Coral Springs and west to large parts of Florida, with isolated areas around Jacksonville and southeast of St. Petersburg.

-​Incredibly, that plume of wildfire smoke, which blanketed Maine and Atlantic Canada last week, has made it as far south as Florida and was also moving westward near the northern Gulf Coast.

-This smoke was steered southwestward by an omega block of high pressure that is responsible for monthly record heat in the Plains, Midwest and Northeast.
