Wait this is a Valhalla DLC? But they seem to renew the stealth mechanics. But yeah Ill wait when discounted. Ubi games are pretty cheap after a year.

It was initially supposed to be DLC for valhalla, but they decided to repurpose it as a "new" game for god knows reasons .... since it was more of a "back to basics" but still using the same old engine lol. I mean it's only 50 bucks, so that should tell you ...

I have a love/hate relationship with AC games, but this is the first one where I'm not going to buy at launch because it looks so uninspired and boring, I'm still keen to play it, but I'll wait for the first sale.

I might drop the 12 bucks or whatever if it's on gamepass but no way would I buy this garbage.

Those games are such low effort copy and paste it's wild

Maybe compared to starfield. I mean the assassins creed engine is only 7 years old, not 15.

General concensus from what I see is that the return to full stealth gameplay is fantastic, but it's held back by too many negatives.

-the map is unmemorable and generally all the same with no distinct zones
-the side content is trash like "collect this insignificant loot in a box"
-the story is trash and you get no connection to your main targets. You basically just find a note that tells you they're guilty and then you kill them 5 min later
-main character is meh compared to GOATs like Edward and Bayek

I like the fact that they nailed the stealth gameplay loop, but everything else being so generic is disappointing. You'd think this would be the most varried and content dense AC game since its 15-20 hours long, but they still managed to fill it with copy-paste Ubisoft bs. AC games are so wack. We get one good game every 5 entries.

I don't see the point in the first line. Top 33% is not anything even worth mentioning, especially considering 'ever released'.

I put the percentile in for every game review thread I make, it gives and indication to how it has reviewed to other games. I didn’t post it there to say “wow how amazing it’s reached the top third”

Damn. Didnt know that. But like you, kI have a love/hate with AC.

Their games are fun, esp seeing different types of assassin/settings, but it does tend to be formulaic and repetitive. I haven't even finished Valhalla yet, though I plat a lot of the AC games.

I wish they continue a templar based series like with Rogue. Maybe take annual turns - assassins then templars.
