Graduated with a master's in physics, having trouble finding a job

What's crappenin'. Like the title suggests, I recently graduated with an M.S. in physics with my research focus being molecular dynamics simulations. I have applied for a bunch of jobs and haven't gotten any interviews yet. Do you boyos have any suggestions? I've been applying for data scientist/analyst jobs, or anything related to the area. I'm using chatGPT to tailor my resume to each job description and also using it to help write cover letters for the jobs.
It's a little disheartening, and now I'm thinking I should try to start a small business doing something else.

Emailing the heads of companies is an interesting idea. I think I show better in person than I do on my resume, so that's a good idea, too.

All my life I've been running from G4P, maybe it's time to accept my fate.

As far as Ukraine is concerned, good luck to them, but that's all I'll give 'em.

Yeah, what did you expect? Should have done some sort of Engineering.

I got a Masters in one of the most "practical" degrees there is (Accounting) and it was still a bitch to finally get a solid job and career going.

Go into a field where you need some certifications or on job training more relative to your degree.

You can start working as an adjunct professor at any one or several of the hundreds of community colleges in the LA area. The better districts pay something like 3500-4000 per class per semester. With your degree You are eligible to teach math and general science courses as well. That is just to start. You can easily pick up some classes for the spring semester and depending on your location or willingness to travel (working at more than one CC) you can pick up 8-10 classes for the four months of spring semester.

Edit the search for precision because a lot of jobs not related come up. But you can also cross over into engineering and some tech jobs.

I know a few people who have an MS in physics and they are turning down job offers.

Seems like an extremely limited degree my man. Realistically how many jobs out there require a physics degree?


Might as well start teaching/go into academia. Either that or get a badass job building rockets.

I do love learning about physics and the puzzles that are solved using its tools.
I figured the math, analysis, and use of software to do complex things would help with technical jobs in general. So something like data scientist or analyst.
