I recently watched Talk to Me. It’s not very scary and the kids in it are annoying but it’s worth a watch.
Also seen Popes Exorcist. Russel Crowe was pretty good in it.
Also throw in a classic; Tales From The Hood. It holds up well. Soundtrack was banging too.

Just looked up Talk to Me.

Saw it's Australian and not Hollywood. Will def check out now.

Aussie movies are pretty underrated or overlooked.

A great one I watched during the lockdowns although not horror was "These Final Hours."

I haven't seen anything good from this year but people here keep mentioning Talk To Me so I guess I'll give my input on it. It's a concept that should have been fun and interesting, but it plays out like every character in that film is a total imbecile and nobody acts like how a normal human being would.

They have this amazing thing that can communicate in the paranormal world. But instead of trying to share it with science for the greatest discovery in human history, they instead treat it only like a party favor. Lulz. It's so dumb that it took me out of the film.

Nah, that's just lazy writing because they know all they have to do is cater to imbeciles such as yourself who will say "Durr, it's just a movie!". Lulz.

Yeah, a lot of them are just a bunch of drug and pot smoking teens, but you know what figuring out how to monetize something as awesome as a thing that can talk to the dead can buy? A lot more drugs!

So gtfo with your low IQ logic. You act like these people were so drug addled that they were bed ridden and unable to muster more than a few words. They were all functional human beings who had the ability to go "You know what, maybe we can do so much more with this artifact that just mundane parties."

The plot and writing was something that would work for an episode of Treehouse Of Horror. But for a movie that's supposed to be somewhat taken seriously, it was really goofy.

Anyone who thinks Talk to me is a good movie has never seen a good horror movie because its terrible and dumb as fuk. Bunch of cringe teens possess each other and act like its the funniest party trick ever watching their friends turn into demons. Dumb as fuk.

They were not even drug addicted just apparently normal goofy teens. The movie wanted the audience to be scared of them getting possessed while the actual characters acted like it was hilarious. Just moronic writing which caters to the brain dead modern movie culture. The characters should have been scared to death of what they were witnessing. Awful movie with basically no plot, and extremely unlikeable characters

So you got upset because I just said the word "science" and that triggered you? Haha. And then you proceed to talk about COVID which had absolutely nothing to do with what I'm talking about. Lulz. YOU sound like the Redditor. Not me. Get a hold of yourself.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb.

On the topic of horror movies, I just found out the director of Terrified, an Argentian horror film that I highly recommend people check out, is coming out with a new film called When Evil Lurks. Can't fukking wait for it.

That's what was so off putting about the movie. I'm watching it and thinking the whole time "Wait, so these guys have something they can use to make a lot of money if they chose to, but instead they'd rather just use it as a game at parties like it's beer pong or something?" And like you said, they're so nonchalant about it. It's so laughable. Movies will always have flaws here and there, but at least try to make me believe that the characters aren't all retards.

"Talk to Me" is garbage. There are no new good horror movies. Just rewatch comfy old ones like "The Ninth Gate"

I actually recommended Terrified recently also. its a great horror movie, much more hard hitting than the usual Hollywood fodder. Some genuinely brutal scenes. I would generally recommend foreign horror or old school horror, the modern stuff like talk to me is literally sesame street horror. The French had a great wave of horror movies about 15 years ago.

Inside.
Martyrs

Both movies are just brutal.

The Descent is also great. British horror. Modern Hollywood is total trash

Yeah these are the kind of films I recommend as well.

The Dark And The Wicked is one of my favorites from recent years.

No one will save you has been my favorite so far from recent. It just came out last weekend on Hulu. Awesome take on alien invasion/horror.
