I’m becoming more nihilistic

I look around at the world, society, and the people in it and I feel like “This is it? This is all there is to human existence? This is all we’re capable of?”

The stupidity, the selfishness, the mundanity, the evil, the suffering, etc. Maybe it’s because I lack a critical purpose or mission, but I find myself increasingly disillusioned by the world around me.

I'm also a nihilist. I believe we came from nothing. But I thinking nothing wanted to be something, so it did. And we are the byproduct of that.
You are your thoughts. Life is perception, thoughts are perception, perception is reality ergo thoughts are reality, I think therefore I am.

I don't agree with OP at all with his post. Society has accomplished a lot. We've made it very far with architecture and technology thanks to engineering and academia. We live in the very far future from a existence that was once nothing. Appreciate your time while you are here and existing. We may exist after death so that should impact you on how you act in this life. Or you could be a moral nihilist and think morals are from nothing and use that as an excuse to do whatever the **** you want if you can get away with it. That's a bad road. Trust me.
You are your thoughts. Life is perception, thoughts are perception, perception is reality ergo thoughts are reality, I think therefore I am.

Nihilism has a negative connotation assigned to it when discussed normal conversation but there is not anything inherently counterproductive or unhealthy about it.

It is not unreasonable.

I would suggest nihilism fills in the gaps of the ego when we start to lose it.

Only the ego believes it is as important as it thinks it is. Only the ego would believe this was all for them, that what it thinks is “good” or “bad” is good or bad according to the universe. The ego wants this to matter because the ego wants to matter.

Nihilism is not a bad thing and from a certain perspective, can be a significant source of inspiration and strength.

You all ain’t ready for that conversation though.
“The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.“

PS: Don't eat poop, just don't let the idea of it stop you from living life to its fullest.
