Gov. Newsom signs bill banning ‘junk fees' in California

That dork that runs Cali actually did good this time. A lot of businesses do that thing to where they wait until you commit to buy, then add a bunch of fees.

I wish more states would do something similar.

This will, hopefully, prevent that.

Newsom has signed Senate Bill 478, proposed by Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, in partnership with Attorney General Rob Bonta and Sen. Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, which seeks to outlaw hidden charges on purchases — also known as junk fees — ensuring consumers are not exposed to deceptive business practices that add unfair costs

"Now we can put the consumer first and create a level playing field for those businesses that advertise the real price, up front," Sen. Dodd said in a statement. "I appreciate everyone who worked to end these dishonest charges that boost corporate profits at the expense of those who can least afford it."

They will get rid of junk fees and just increase sales tax

We need a fat tax like they do in china. Tax morbidly obese fat fuks in America for being gross waste of space.

A fat tax could be a surcharge on large portions of food meant for one person or large clothes.
