I am not even taking about deep, complex conversations about something. I am talking about people who literally can't get past the lowest level of conversation, for example:

- Talking about the weather, but never in a complex way ("its so hot today; look how much is raining, ...");
- About sports, but never in a complex way ("the patriots won";"since we have this manager we didn't lose a single game");
- About other people ("Josh did this; Ashley went there";


They also take everything personally and can't make or understand a broad statement, example:
Person 1: "Chinese people are shorter than Norwegians";
Person 2: "No!!!!!!!!!!! I am Chinese and I know some Norwegians that are shorter than me!"
or
Person 1: "Men are physically stronger than women";
Person 2: "No, my friend *insert female name* is very strong!".

You are the perfect type of person to answer my question, since you couldn't even understand the fact that this is more "complex" than the examples I gave. I am trying to understand the cause of such thing. So, are you just dumb or extremely intellectually lazy?

I call them uninteresting extroverts - they enjoy conversating but provide nothing to the table and expect you to carry the conversation for them.

The thing is, you can't even carry the conversation with those people. Everytime you try to get out of the "superficial bubble" its like you activated a circuit breaker and they IMMEDIATELY change the conversation subject to the weather or something similar.

Is like their brains are conditioned not to think. Everytime they need to put effort into doing it, the circuit breaker pops.

It's all about frequency.

Think about it, they spend all day watching tv, sports, and looking at social media within the context of basic low level entertainment. The majority of people never think critically. Look at covid. People just spout off exactly what the low level frequency media told them about. They ingest talking heads of propaganda, watch videos of the most mundane and surface level speaking, listen to the worst music, and ultimately never critically think. They never have a moment of peace to sit and think. They only ingest information and speak it. Beyond that it's just reactive BS. Don't forget all these people are on psych meds, drugs, heavy alcohol drinkers, poor diets, etc. So your average person feels like chit, listens to chit and thus can only talk and comprehend chit.

Try going to a bar when you're sober. It's a nightmare and you have nothing in common. Go to the same place canned and keep getting canned and you'll have the best night. One time I went to a bar sober that I used to only go to a few times when I'd actually drink. When they turned the lights on at the end of the night, I just looked around and was disgusted. I never went back.

Frequency of thought, who you are, actions, etc play a huge factor in day to day life and people never talk about it. Most of life now just dampens your frequency and people exist as "zombies" or "NPCs" because of the low vibrational state of mind.

Why?

They do not have any original thoughts and/or they are afraid to offend anyone. Basically, the same reason that late night TV shows and morning radio shows suck now. They have watered everything down, so that it doesn't offend anyone until the point that there simply is no substance left. People are afraid to disagree with each other and if they had real conversations, they would be forced to disagree with each other or admit they don't know what they are talking about.


On the other hand, they may be avoiding talking to you specifically because they think you are uninteresting or uninformed. Even though I am very opinionated on a wide variety of topics and enjoy discussing them with others; if I think another person brings nothing to the conversation, I will use the exact same tactics you mentioned above to avoid conversating. There are certain people in my office who I will never entertain a real conversation with and others who I have deep conversations and debates with frequently.

people spend 60 hours a week working, getting ready for work, driving to work, winding down....plus ~60 hours sleeping. probably 7-8 hours stuffing their face. A few hours taking a chit/piss.

that's 130 hours out of a possible 168.

if they have kids/spouse take most of that remainder away. plus they need to check social media, watch football, watch tv shows/movies...possibly sneak in some sex.

MOST people don't have time engage in learning anything remotely deep or talk about it.

I keep conversations with most people incredibly simple like that nowadays because most people are completely incapable of talking about anything beyond the bare basics, their hobbies, and their families. So it's not worth attempting to talk with them about anything else.

I think that people whom want to talk about dumb chit like that are NPC's. I think its a waste of mental bandwith that could be used for something learnable.

People are busy and don't want to engage random strangers into long drawn intellectual conversations. That's why they talk about dumb sht and basically a subtle way to tell you to GTFO.

OP, here is a red pill: Most people are like this. They're boring and one-dimensional and only ever talk about other people.


This is why it's a good idea to seek out specialist groups and forums which talk about more complex things, or find like minded people IRL, gatherings, academic communities etc.


Even worse than constantly talking about other people are people who only ever talk about themselves and never ask about you, or how you're going, never pause in the conversation to let you speak, and just ramble on about their own problems for minutes on end.


Good conversation partners are preciously rare.
