Damn I remember when I couldn’t even keep water down, let alone beer or Jaegermeister or wine or, god forbid, whiskey. Drinking actually felt like poisoning myself just to be able to function every day. Throwing up first thing in the morning, yellow bile, every day. Throwing up all day long. Couldn’t eat food. Waking up in the middle of the night, shaking, to drink flavored vodka. Did that for about 1 year, not sure how I lived.
Stay safe, boyo!
But now I’m almost 1 year sober (srs) and amazed at how the human body can recover from abuse!
90 lbs whilst being a 235lb fatty bloatlord ain’t too bad

unless you drink well-made shine, booze actually ruin your restful sleep. Besides, you are not forcing yourself. Lets be honest, you know, we all know, you are full blown alcoholic.

I did that for several months until I drove myself to ER and told them whats going on and you can tell they dealt with it 1000s of times and went into detox procedure. It was hard in hospital with help and drugs, cannot imagine doing it alone at home. After 3 days they ask me if wanted to stay in the mental ward for further help, best thing I did is say yes and stay there for a whole week completely dry and reconfiguring life.
It will be a year without drinking this November.

Once in a while he may tell the truth. And the truth, strange to say, is usually that he has no more idea why he took that first drink than you have. Some drinkers have excuses with which they are satisfied part of the time. But in their hearts they really do not know why they do it. Once this malady has a real hold, they are a baffled lot. There is the obsession that somehow, someday, they will beat the game. But they often suspect they are down for the count.
How true this is, few realize. In a vague way their families and friends sense that these drinkers are abnormal, but everybody hopefully awaits the day when the sufferer will rouse himself from his lethargy and assert his power of will. The tragic truth is that if the man be a real alcoholic, the happy day may not arrive. He has lost control.
At a certain point in the drinking of every alcoholic, he passes into a state where the most powerful desire to stop drinking is of absolutely no avail. This tragic situation has already arrived in practically every case long before it is suspected.
The fact is that most alcoholics, for reasons yet obscure, have lost the power of choice in drink. Our so-called will power becomes practically nonexistent. We are unable, at certain times, to bring into our consciousness with sufficient force the memory of the suffering and humiliation of even a week or a month ago. We are without defense against the first drink.
The almost certain consequences that follow taking even a glass of beer do not crowd into the mind to deter us. If these thoughts occur, they are hazy and readily supplanted with the old threadbare idea that this time we shall handle ourselves like other people. There is a complete failure of the kind of defense that keeps one from putting his hand on a hot stove.

Fast forward a mere 2 years later and he turned as yellow as a sticky note and swelled with ascites in the belly, and was swollen all throughout his hands and legs. Doctors told him his days of drinking were done for forever and that he didn’t have cirrhosis but I think he was lying as that sure as hell sounds like cirrhosis to me.

lmao.
I don't know how you can be an alcoholic when it's so miserable that you have to force it down?
I can see if you're out getting hammered & having the time of your life.... But its misery for you.
So..... Stop doing it.
When I drink I'm having fun FUNNNNN.

I never could have detoxed myself, never. The hospital was a god-send. It only took 5 days with IV ativa n. Incredible. Apparently the first night I was delirious and suicidal but I don’t remember that. I do remember asking a cute and very nice young nurse why she had to sit and watch me. She was very compassionate.
I really, really feel for anyone who is going through this because I sunk as low into alcoholism as anyone can possibly go and still survive. If anyone is struggling they owe it to their future self to get help RIGHT NOW.
Every day I can wake up and feel normal is a gift, as corny as that may seem, because I went for years without ever feeling normal. I know you know what I mean. Sobriety is a gift, mayne.
Congrats on your 1 year coming up. Mine is in mid November. I can’t get back the time, health, or money, and the misery and agony I inflicted upon myself will always remain, but at least I can make the right choice from now on.
