I switched jobs for the first time in my life. I was at my previous company for five years. I was so used to how things worked and my team. I knew everything and was so comfortable. I just miss my old team and work environment so much. I switched to my new place due to potential for new opportunities and to learn a broader skillset. But i just cant help but feel so bad and filled with doubt. I dont know anyone in this new place and almost everyone is working from home so no one is in the office other than a few people. Does it get better over time? SRS

I started a new job 2 years ago and tripled my salary from my last job. I’ve had 2 long term jobs prior. Both 5 years. Went from 33k, to next job 45k and then 55k after promotion. Now 150k. I have a max of 1 person that keeps in contact regularly with me from either job. So yeah it’s fun to have friends and feel like your on the same team working towards the same goal, hang out after work etc. In the end it’s all for show. Far too many people only care about theirselves and are only your friend for as long as you work with them. Kind of sad but fk em.

My current job I go in 2x a week and don’t know a soul and everybody has headphones on the entire time, and busy on MS Teams calls. Nobody wants to be bothered and nobody is working towards the same team goal. It’s pointless, and it sucks to not have any chance to make friends with co-workers but oh well. What’s the point in letting that get to you if they’re all going to act like you never existed once you leave or get laid off?

You have to legit give it about 90 days or so. All new jobs are uncomfortable until you get into a rhythm.

If you still dont like it at the 90 day mark then it most likely wont work out and its time to look for something else.
