Whats the point if powerlifting?
My gym has a lot of then.
Theyre always short, fat, 35+ year olds who look like dog ****.
Whats the poiint though? None of them make money from it. Theyre destroying their bodies in the process as well.
Can someone tell me the thinking into getting into powerlifting?

Have you ever wanted to try to find out your physical potential or the limit of your Strength?
If you haven't then you are not a man.
Do you want to be like Maurice?

Every gym has its group of resident dwarven powerlifters, using blocks of chalk, bands, chains and wraps to lift 4 plates

I mean I wasn’t ****ting on them. Obviously different goals. That said, lifting as heavy and making progress while eating a ton is a lot easier than trying to make gains and cutting.
If you are a competing power lifter. Props. But your average gym dude probably just doesn’t watch his diet and claims status.

so lifting weights to become stronger is a foreign concept now?
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

and stronger than a sedentary couch potato
but your gym lifts will never make you stronger than say an amateur wrestler or someone who does labor on a farm all day
"old man strength" doesnt come from lifting things up in a gym that were designed for that very purpose

For once, OP is right.
All the powerlifters who try to hype themselves up by fisting their prostate are fat sack's of ****.
Don't care if you can lift 500lbs for reps and think you are mogging.
Guarantee your heart is doing double that just trying to keep your fat ass alive.
Disgusting fat sacks of ****. They are the same type of people who have nothing else going for them in their life. So they cope with trying to be the strongest lifter in their (mind) gym.
