What do you hate the most about 9-5 slavery?
For me, it was the annoying ''Be there at a fixed time''.
Quite often, I don't feel like sleeping before 12 AM, so I end up sleep-deprived. Maybe I need an hour or two more, which I cannot get if I have to follow office hours.

How itโs robbed me of my soul.
I have to spend more time rotting at a windowless cubicle, staring mindlessly at a computer screen typing up bullchit I have zero passion or care for, than I do around my loved ones. Weekends and holidays are the only escape and theyโre a facade.
I have to show up and pretend to be someone Iโm not. If you donโt play office politics, acting like a beta ass kissing yes man, you get weeded out pretty quickly. Anyone who acts like a man is โunprofessional.โ
I have to accept that theyโve gamed the system to keep people from being aspirational. I have no time, energy or extra money to be an entrepreneur. Also, the jobs that I would enjoy such as landscaping, snow plowing, tradie work, etc. pays barely over minimum wage, while this piece of chit fuking office job that contributes nothing to society pays $25 per hour. So Iโm financially enslaved into the white collar world. No options to leave.
I have to do this for another 38 years, throwing away the prime of my life, letting the world pass me by, all because I have no other way to support myself financially. If I want a roof over my head at night, I cannot be free.
I hate everything about this. I want it to end.

I don't hate much about it because I'm not a b!tch raised on social media who has been brain washed into thinking a 9-5 job is the worst thing in the world.
Probably the only thing I find sh!tty about it is most require you to be there at a certain time when I am more productive other times. But otherwise, it's really not that bad. And to compare it to slavery is just fcuking stupid. I make great money, have great benefits, an office gym, top tier cafeteria, around other people my age who are hungry for success, and at any moment I could freely leave and go attempt to find something better.
This isn't slavery. Stop crying and get to work, son.

I hate that we seemingly have to incorporate it into our identity. Like our job is part of who we are as a person
Nah man. It is a tool. Nothing else.

I don't hate it. I thrive on structure and routine.
I hated it when I hated the actual job I did. But ever since I started doing a job I like (about six years ago), I realized it wasn't the hours or the schedule. It was just the crappy jobs.

I wish I was a 9-5er, I'm just a lowly 350k/CEOer who has to do everything.
Imagine:
Know what I'm wearing everyday.
HBB makes me breakfast in morning and packs lunch.
Bye kids, kiss wife.
On way to work learning new languages via podcast thing.
Headphones in during work to get things done.
Eat my prepared meal at lunch in the nearby park.
Headphones back in during work.
Shore up language skills on ride to gym.
Hit gym nearby house before heading home.
HBB has dinner ready, kids homework done and clothes laid out.
Catch up on reading.
Smash HBB.
Asleep by 10, perfect day.
9-5 is goat.
