Largest Study on Living Long
Epoch Times article discussing the largest study ever conducted on living long. It consisted of over 700,000 veterans and they found that these key findings helped people living up to 25 years longer, which is pretty significant.
If you don’t have an account with ET, I’ll post the cliffs;
1. No Drugs
2. No smoking
3. No alcohol, with an exception for specific red wines from Italy, possibly the result of being high in antioxidants (their culture aligned with this entire list too) Any binge drinking, even if once a month, had a significant impact, as well as drinking every day.
4. Activity; not just exercise, but general activity. Gardening and other outdoor activity, walking, hiking etc.
5. Strong social connections. Friends and family.
6. Marriage for men. They found no difference between women who were and were not married.
7. Spirituality and religion. That’s right boyos, get right with God and your inner spirit beasts. Atheists on suicide watch.
8. A sense of purpose and a meaningful life. Self worth. Nihilists on suicide watch
9. The biggest factor that they found was conscientiousness, which seemed to have an impact of 5-10 years of life. Misc on suicide watch. We gon’ die early misc.
10. Healthy ways to deal with stress and anxiety.
Millennials are doomed.

Good list, I already do everything on it. But I’ll immediately start doing the exact opposite of everything listed because I’ll be dammed if I accidentally add an additional 25 years to my life.

But for real though, connection with others (a few on the list) and every day activity are the biggest factors. The biggest commonalities among the blue zones are sense of community and people having to walk a lot in their every day lives, and not on flat land.

It really does look like the perfect place to live. One can easily see why people live long there.

A lot of these things are no-brainers; they have been repeated for decades now. I mean I guess we need reminders as we get the occasional "Some alcohol is good for you, sum studiez show srs" articles based off one study that probably wasn't thorough.
at the end of the day I know a lot of people who are high-stress, drink, smoke, do all sorts of **** that isn't good for them, and they look wiped out by the time they hit 30. Health will always be the most important asset we all have.

I think one thing to add to this, and its rarely mentioned, is stress.
People in the blue zones have everything going for them listed in the OP, but stress is a big one too and far bigger than most people realize

A childhood friend of mine just died at the age of 48. Was a heavy drinker and smoker. Was a really nice guy, and hard worker. He will def be missed.

Literally couldn't care less what happens after 70-75. My biggest goal with regard to longevity is making it to 75 without needing any joint replacements or fake teeth. If I can keep all my body parts that long I will gladly die the day after my 75th bday no problem.
That being said the only thing I'm fukking up on that list is alcohol and friends. Have a great family of my own that I love and gives me all the purpose and sense of worth that I need. But I don't give a f about keeping any homies around maybe once my kids are older and don't need my attention 24/7.

5. Strong social connections. Friends and family.
6. Marriage for men. They found no difference between women who were and were not married.
7. Spirituality and religion. That’s right boyos, get right with God and your inner spirit beasts. Atheists on suicide watch.
8. A sense of purpose and a meaningful life. Self worth. Nihilists on suicide watch
9. The biggest factor that they found was consciousness, which seemed to have an impact of 5-10 years of life. Misc on suicide watch. We gon’ die early misc.
10. Healthy ways to deal with stress and anxiety.
Going to focus on these.
They (you know who they are) are trying to destroy social connections, especially among white men and trying to overall destroy families promoting degen behavior.
They are trying to ruin marriage for men making it so easy and convenient for women to end it.
They want to destroy religion, and want you to worship government, and they praise atheists.
Consumerism trying to make you think you need to buy the next thing, need to make more, buy a bigger house, fancy car, ect. I've heard it on here where if you don't make XXX,XXX dollars a year how you should be ashamed of yourself.
They even want you to feel bad about success and living good.
They want you to be jealous of everyone who has more than you and empathetic and giving to everyone who has less.
They litterally promote drugs to deal with stress and anxiety.
It's almost like they are trying to shorten your life whle getting the most out of you. Almost.

Got every single one of those except for marriage. Except I do drink socially, but that's probably meaningless.

Yeah, I just turned 49. My son just turned 3.
I already quit drinking. Now I've got to quit smoking. Thankfully I didn't start smoking till my late 30s so hopefully not much damage done.
My only goal now is to live long enough to see my son grudste high school, get in a university and a good fraternity knowing he is armed with the knowledge and teachings properly instilled in him to go imouy into the world and not Judy make a difference but live a fine successful life at the same time.
If I drop over the day after seeing him get there for all my wrong turns, any regrets , objectives set/placed yet never accomplished in my life I will have died a happy man and Father.
Most of my life I lived extremely health conscious both food wise and exercise . Was a short period of my life where I regrettably, foolishly damaged my body so hopefully the damage is not too severe.

The main thing is to stay active and to have a decent diet.
By diet I mean just good old fashioned home cooked food like meatloaf, veg and potatoes.
Get some sunlight daily if you can and at least do something outside if you can. Walk, workout, whatever you can handle.
One of the main things though is to not go running to the doctor for every little ache and pain. they will 100% of the time hook you on some drugs you dont need. If you need some pills for a temporary thing like recovering from something or anti biotics thats fine but just keep it at that,. none of this taking pills for life nonsense.
My parents were moving back to the san diego area years ago and Dad was in terrible shape. Just catatonic 24/7. He was taking like a dozen different pills. Got a new doctor here and the first thing he did was take him off all those pills. So my question is why was he on them in the first place?
Every man will get to that point where they go to the doctor for a sprained ankle and come out with a bucket full of blood pressure and cholesterol pills for this or that. Use your common sense before taking these things. read up on it and think long and hard if you want to do this. Doctors are getting paid not for healing people but for selling more drugs .
Dont act like an old man if you dont have to. We have all seen these guys who are like 38 and complaining because they are so old. Its bull ****. Lots of guys out there want to be old because they will have a built in excuse to not have to lose weight or workout or whatever. Just ne honest with yourself.
I am older so i have to take more time off between workouts. Its just the way it is but thats ok, i will just progress slower. not the end of the world.
