Any Audi owners here? MMI question (phone pairing)

I just bought a 2014 S8, and I'm curious if I need to buy an MMI to USB-C adapter to charge and play music from my phone. Will that work? Also, is there a way to update the software for the navigation? I absolutely love the car, and I'd like to hold on to it for as long as I can. I definitely need to bring the entertainment aspects of it closer to 2023 though.
