My brother just had a child. Feels surreal realising you are not the child anymore

My older bro became a father and it kinds of feels surreal to me.

I realised that the cycle of life continues - my parents are indeed getting old, my brother is no longer a kid, and he is now in the parent role.

Looking at his child and him I thought ''Ok I remember when I was 3-4 and my dad/ mom holding me'' and it hit me that my dad was basically what my brother is now, almost 30 years ago.

I remember it as yesterday and realise that time flies by. Back then, it felt like even being 15 was a long way to go but now that I'm 30 the past 25 years feel like not a distant memory.

It makes me sad. Mostly because of my parents, they ain't young no more and I know one day they will be gone. I ain't no longer a kid and will never be able to again experience childlike memories.

I kind of miss my mom. She is doing well, she hasn't still hit 60 and she still loves me the same way she did as when I was a kid. I see her everyday but I miss her being young and she holding me while taking me back from school and always keeping attention to what I do.

Sry for being a depressed ph3gget. It's hard to accept that I ain't a kid anymore and that my time with my parents is limited.

This. Spend quality time with your parents while you can.
I'm taking my dad to drive Porsches on the Hockenheim race track in March. Best way to spend your money.
