ITT: Post one important thing you will focus on and appreciate this holiday season

The Xmas season is a time to bring your focus onto the present and away from past and future considerations. It's a time to take a mindful step back and pay attention to what is most meaningful and important to you in your life. On my end, I'm taking a considerable step back from particular tasks and diminishing my workload. The main aspect I want to focus on is spending as much quality time with family as possible and try my best to direct my attention to the present moment rather than constantly thinking ahead and focusing on goal achievement. I'm going to try to crack open a few winter-appropriate beers I've been saving throughout the year including special bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts, barley wines, an other similar extra strong beers I can have while sitting by my fireplace listening to Xmas jazzy piano music and watching the snow fall outside reminding myself that I have nowhere to go and nothing to do in that moment.

Hope everyone's December starts off well and that you're able to take a full step back and appreciate the most important aspects of your life this holiday period.

Will spread holiday cheer reps around ITT

For your time.....

I’m going to try to arrange it so my kids get to spend as much time with their grandparents as possible. I appreciate it because 3 of mine lived far away, and passed when I was young. I have few memories of them. I want my kids to experience getting to know theirs. I know it makes their grandparents happy too.

One word: family.

Taking wife and kids to see family in the UK next week. Kids will miss a few days of school and then return with my wife whilst I stay on in the UK for an 10 days after that to take care of some property I own there. I made a post about this here:

https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...post1694127133

After that I'm hosting Christmas dinner here in TX for my North American family (20 people).

I'm on vacation for the next 6 weeks

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

What does a Texan Christmas dinner look like?

Also off for 6 weeks myself, just checked. Till the new year!

I'm going to appreciate my family especially those I saw recently whom I haven't seen in over 15 years.

It sounds banal but a friend of mine died tragically in February and it devastated his family massively. It's a reminder that even your closest companions can be gone in an instant.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Christmas morning my bride and I hit the road and drive to key west for a week of relaxation. I’ll focus on having a great time with the most important person in the world to me and make sure she has a wonderful time.

That’s all.

We get another Christmas with my parents, and my wife’s parents. All are in their 80s. Spend some time with your fam this year, boyos. It won’t last forever.

Feels. I literally just had a conversation with my wife that we could probably count the remaining Christmases with our full family on 2 hands, at most

Appreciate while we can.

How's everyone's holiday prep coming along? We're supposed to get something like 10-15cm of snow overnight so it's gonna be an early white christmas over here. It's been a weird fall. It started snowing so early that it's all melting intermittently, so it goes from winter, back to fall, to winter, back to fall, in an endless cycle as the days are in the plusses and nights in the negatives. It's gone from -10C to +8C within 24 hours. It's fuking bananas, man.

I hope we get some snow this winter. Hopefully on a day when I don't have to go anywhere. lol

I am pretty much done decorating the house for Christmas. It's been so fun. In my condo I didn't have anywhere to put decorations besides a tree and my wreath on the door. This is the first time in 7 years I've gotten all my decorations out. I love how festive the house looks. My son came over last Monday with his gf for dinner and he was even commenting on how he hasn't seen this stuff in a long time.

The things I'll be focusing on and showing appreciation for this holiday season are family, my bf and friends. I'm also going to make a donation in my boos memory to the rescue that I adopted him from.

Sounds like a good time! You should see the snow we woke up to here this morning. It's so thick it's like the trees are full of foliage. It's like waking up inside a snow globe.

Snow day today, that's a for sure.
