nah always hitting my penor, DB shrugs x100 better and work reflexors more. Nothing worse than shrugging 275 and having to move bar out forward because penor is getting smashed

Nah. Typically just raises where I isolate the traps instead of delts.

I prefer DB shrugs or behind the back shrugs with the smith machine. People forget the traps aren't just next to your neck, but travel down your spine too. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

I found pretty crazy growth doing above the knee shrugs / rack pulls using (retarded/relatively high) weights ... You have to make sure you're wearing straps so you can lift heavier and dont have to worry about grip. Rack pulls are also good ..... Basically anything alpha destiny said about back/traps were visible gains. I'd die on that hill ..... I'm nowhere near as good looking as your dp op ... but I legit saw some great gains.

I do them some. Not with a ton of weight. Mostly where I go up to the top, and then squeeze my shoulder blades back and down, and repeat. Had a physical therapist recommend it to me, so I've been doing a couple sets of them. Not your typical gym bro way where you just put as much weight as possible on the bar, and go up and down as fast as possible, shrugs where you just try and move as much weight as possible. I try and be more deliberate in my training these days.

I stopped doing shrugs 7 years ago. My traps get plenty of work indirectly.

why shrug using the smith machine? Its not a natural movement.

Also, barbell allows using straps eventually, so why use dumbbells?

Just do clean pulls or trap raises on the calf machine.
