Need Mattress Recommendations; About to Spend 5k...

Is anyone familiar with the Purple RestorePremier™ Hybrid Mattress? I also don't know whether to get it firm or soft. When I laid on one in the store it was firm but felt soft.

Trying to get a recommendation from the misc, otherwise, I might be overspending. However, I have been sleeping like sh!t and am hoping investing in my sleep can improve my sleep dramatically. Any recommendation? (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Yup. Came out inconclusive because I couldn't sleep having a bunch of electrodes all over my head sleeping on my back. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Have you ever thought it might be the stuff you’re taking? Also, why not change your pillow first before changing your mattress?

I like both Purple and Tempurpedic.

Tempur get quite warm with the body heat whereas Purple doesn't. Try them in the store as you did breh.

My friend got one of those purple ones you're talking about. He liked it. But he asked if he could purchase the floor model, and they sold it to him for like $800. Was essentially brand new. Except for people laying on it for 10 seconds a couple times a day.

Spent about 5k on my king size temperpedic and electronic adjustable frame

****in worth every penny. I don't last for more than like 5 minutes of consciousness in my bed, I sleep solid af thru the night, and don't feel the movement from my gf or dog getting on or off the bed.

I sold them for years.

Hedge on the firmer side. Its like shoes. You dont want to buy shoes that are a bit too big initially as they will feel too loose once they break in.

I have always been a traditional spring mattress type guy. Even though I could but them at cost I still have a sealy posturepedic and its lasted for years. The foam ones and air ones are ok but I feel they are more marketing than anything else.

No need to spend 5k on one either. Shoot for the mid range models around 2k or so. Simmons beautyrest is also a good one.

Also, dont even think of paying full price. Shop towards the end of the month when they are more desperate to hit their sales goals. Offer 50% of the price on the tag and work from there. You wont get it for that but it shows them you are in the game and want a deal.

Make sure it included delivery and removal of your old one in the price.

I actually just bought the Purple Restore Plus in the firm option. I had it for about 4 or 5 days now and it's pretty good. It is pretty firm though. I'm a stomach sleeper and my wife a back and side sleeper. I figure over time it will probably soften up a bit. They give you 100 nights to see if you like it so I say try it out and see.

No recommendation, but I've heard you can negotiate the price a lot since mattresses have a huge markup.

Ghostbed Luxe

I have it, I believe back when I bought it I went on some Mattress forum and this was recommended - i believe its made with the same **** as tempurpedic, but a small company. It's incredibly comfortable and helps me stay cool. Bought their cooling sheets and pillows too and it was honestly the best ~$3.5k that Ive ever spent. Phenominal bed.

Absolutely buy it if you are a hot sleeper like me.

Bonus points is that I think it's in CAD, so I'm assuming itll be extra cheap for you after conversion.

Howdy gmen....

Three years ago we went with the memory foam concept.
Unpack it from the box, let it absorb air for a while and Voila!
It expands to abut 12" thick.
I would not ever go back to the typical mattress/box spring bulk or prices.

Of course, that's just me.

Good luck on your quest.

Mattress shopping is almost impossible to do intelligently. The industry is shady and spends a fortune so you can't make informed decisions.

For the purple mattress you're looking at, the company is based on marketing gimmicks. Those beds fail quite easily. These guys cut open mattresses and they did a purple. That rubber stuff they use fails quickly.

If you're willing to drop $5k on a mattress, the only thing I would consider is a Tempurpedic Luxbreeze (try it in store). Tempurpedic is one of the few companies that spends a lot of money on R&D. These are incredibly nice and very expensive. Great if you get hot when sleeping.

Second up I would probably go with a traditional innerspring or latex. Latex is a unique feeling and you really should try this in store to see if it's for you. I've tried all the firmness combos of latex and don't care for it.

I personally sleep on a cal king "Lakeridge" stearns and foster from Costco. It goes on sale every few months for $200-300 off the sticker price, is delivered for free, and the return policy with costco is excellent. It was $1k delivered and after 1.5 years it still sleeps great. I'd say its a medium-firm, even though its listed as medium. Its a traditional pillow top innerspring.

Do they last long? My spring bed has been **** last couple years and im too cheap to want to upgrade even though I should. It only lasted 4-5 years before I started noticing the divot in the middle ccuz i sleep alone

Can vouch for Ghostbed. Been sleeping on their original mattress for 8 years and I still love it. I just recently did a bunch of "research" because I was buying a new mattress for anew house and I ended up going with a Winkbed hybrid mattress. King size was about $1900 shipped and it has amazing reviews. I won't be sleeping on it for another few months though.

Did a lot more research and decided to go with the winkbed. I really liked the reviews I saw about them on YouTube and other sources. The 120 day no question return policy was another deciding factor to make me comfortable going with them. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

I bought the Purple Level 4 mattress 5 years ago and it was the best money I have ever spent. (I have made several posts about it)
It looks like they have renamed that the Restore Premier Hybrid Mattress. There wasn't a choice between firm or soft at the time. Paid 6k for reference. (worth every penny)

I would buy it again if in the market for one, but would seriously consider the Sleep Number 360 mattress if money was not a consideration.

Bad back brah here. I honestly can't tell a difference when I sleep on a $5k tempur pedic or a $700 memory foam tempur pedic knockoff. Never slept on a hybrid or sleep number. I could never go back to a spring mattress or god forbid a water bed. Don't know why anyone ever thought those were a good idea
