People buying into Newspeak more every day. Have a conversation with a young person and see their lack of real vocabulary. Even in HS, I took pride in being able to speak well. Took etymology classes to understand Latin origins and classes that forced adding hundreds of obscure words each year to ones repertoire. It has greatly helped with acting, public speaking, job interviews, etc. Now the language is shrinking daily.

Yes, because they could not discuss freedom if their was no word for it. One of many reasons that I always wanted to expand my vocabulary, but this world seems to be making it "less big". Slang is a step in that direction by simplifying words, then combining them and their antonyms into a single word, while dumbing down the general population. The plan is going perfectly as planned.

It cracks me up too. Saw some thug looking mentally ill black guy at the airpot next to me in baggage claim and he's just mumbling about how his bag hasn't arrived yet.

Some 6/10 white girl starts smiling at him and chatting. This white girl was clearly well off so it's like, why talk to this dude? He wasn't attractive at all.
