So what's going on with PSVR2?
I haven't heard any news on it or any big releases. What games are Sonycels currently playing? Do any of you actually still used it or is your $550 VR headset just sitting in your cabinet somewhere collecting dust?
Fk the Good Poster Crew (Lockdev, Pink, Kimm, Wasps, Expatriot, Mulloway, Luc1fer, Smallpeter, gwg, Super Hercules, Bonobo, maori-rap, Based Bagel, ezmac31, Goobaa, Godfrd and many more). You know who you are.

they fuked up bigly when they didnt make it backwards compatible with psvr1 games. i mean the whole selling point of ps5 was backwards compatibility with ps4 games and most games to this day are just ps4 games with maybe a ps5 version with slightly better graphics. But now they split their own userbase for vr games between the two systems, that was a stupid mistake
Any dev who wants to make a VR game for playstation has a really tough choice, only for psvr2 or the old aging platform which is also a no go.

I learned my lesson with the first PSVR. Hardly used it, games would give me nausea half the time, and the library of VR games was nothing special, most feeling like tech demos more than full games, and I just never wanted to play a game in VR for long anyways. No way I was going to buy into that again, especially considering how they made it more expensive.
If PSVR2 fades away I think that will confirm what I thought about VR, how it's more of an enthusiast niche than something that appeals to the masses. I always thought it just couldn't really work for a lot of lifestyles, needing to be totally isolated when you use it, and having to dedicate a whole space to it as well.

The headset is actually really good in how it's more powerful, only wire used. The tech behind it is legit and it can only get better. It's absolutely a niche device, one that just adds an extra element to the ps5 and I dont think anyone, even sony expected people to buy it in droves.
But there just isn't enough support from Sony, there's a few decent games on it but the biggest issue is the lack of backwards compatibility with older titles and you still need a bit of space to play it. I don't think price of it being higher than a ps5 helps either, especially when the software just isn't appealing yet. At this point it feels like the PSVR1 got more support than psvr2.

Speaking of PSVR2, I literally just picked my up for the first time in 7 months to play RE4.
Played the first chapter in VR. It was cool, but definitely no killer app for VR. Even with the power of PS5, the image quality of VR is still too soft. The deep blackness of OLED was really great tho. Especially in dark hallways.
Need more horror games to be ported over.
Also the headset strap for the PSVR2 is absolute garbage. It's either too tight on the forehead or sits too heavy on the nose bridge. After the first chapter of RE4 I was just done and feeling claustrophobic.
