Leslie McAdoo Gordon is the principal of McAdoo Gordon & Associates, P.C., founded in 2003. She provides criminal defense for individuals facing misdemeanor and/or felony charges, as well as “white collar” criminal offenses in state and federal courts. She also represents contractors and individuals facing administrative sanctions, including revocation of security clearances and debarment from federal contracts. Ms. McAdoo Gordon graduated cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1996. William L. Shipley’s legal career has been built in a courtroom where he spent 22 years a federal prosecutor, beginning his career in California, and ending it in Hawaii. An experienced trial attorney with more than 40 federal court jury trials taken to verdict, Bill opened his own law firm in 2013 and has focused his practice on federal court cases in Hawaii and California, as well as matters in the Asia-Pacific corridor including Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, and South East Asia.

An Assistant United States Attorney for more than two decades, Bill was lead counsel for the United States in complex criminal investigations and trials regarding multi-national drug manufacturing, trafficking, and money laundering organizations; organized crime enterprises; crimes of violence; opioid trafficking – including cases involving physicians – white-collar crime such bank fraud, mortgage fraud, and health care fraud; and civil rights violations involving police misconduct, human trafficking, and indentured servitude of workers brought illegally into the United States to be exploited.

Civil Attorney

Bill’s civil litigation practice includes medical malpractice – with a specialty involving opioid over-prescribing – personal injury claims, consumer fraud, commercial disputes, employment litigation, and whistleblower cases.

Bill has been sought out to provide advice and guidance to individuals and businesses with facing external and internal investigations by various agencies of the state and local government. He has represented individuals, businesses, and corporations in connection with their status as witnesses, subjects, and targets of investigations by state or federal grand juries.

In his 32-year legal career he has appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals nearly 20 times, and has written dozens of legal briefs on behalf of the United States and his private clients which were filed and submitted with that Court.
