Jobless for 4 weeks now (halp)

Lost my sales job (software BDR) a month ago, and I don't want to go back into another sales role because upper management is holding a gun to your head 24/7 if you're under quota. The stress of it wasn't worth the $, at least in the position that I had.

The issue is that I only have a communication degree with sales experience, so I'm pretty limited outside of sales. Yes I know it's a poverty degree and I regret not going into STEM.

Hit me with your non g4p suggestions pls
RIP Zyzz and Greg Plitt

If that is really you in your avi, have you considered doing sales at any commercialized health clubs? It doesn't have to be long term but it seems like something you would be good at.

How much of your sales job was credit underwriting?

If you have those skills become a credit analyst or get a credit admin role or some kind of sales support office role within finance. Pays good, easy work, 9-5 without quotas or OT.

I’d just relax and start job hunting after the new year and enjoy the rest of the year off.

It's me. I considered doing personal training/sales at a gym but I only have one commercial gym in my area which is the one I go to, and I'd rather not have to be buddy-buddy with everyone there. I'd do it as a last resort though I guess.

Been unemployed my whole life. By that I mean I only had part-time and minimum wage jobs. With a BS in chemistry.

Start investing. Buy stocks low, sell when high. Buy stocks that pay dividends (the equivalent of interest from banks).

And I go for Hispanic girls.

Goto a temp agency and ask for entry level stuff. Your sales experience is enough to get you something. You’ll make way less but can at least get experience in what ever field for future job

Was talking to a long-time family friend who's a retired counselor at a local college, she says there's a HUGE demand for airline pilots.

So many young people in the US, Canada and Europe aren't going to flight school anymore, and a lot of pilots are starting to retire. This is causing a shortage which could soon see airlines hiring incompetent ****** and Chang pilots as a last resort.

Obviously this is going to be a huge security risk when airlines are forced to hire foreigners to pilot their planes.

Consider going to flight school.

Sales background is good, because everyone needs that, even selling yourself to a better job or promotion.

You can look into software client liaison or customer retention jobs. Pay will not be as good, but you get to talk with a lot of programmers. From there, you can try to pivot into scrum master, UX or even straight up programming via experience and certs.

Alternatively, you can try pivoting into marketing - barrier to entry is quite low too, and your experience in sales will help.

I'll just be brutally honest here and say that it'll be hard without relevant experience, but just keep applying, don't give up. Enjoy your xmas and new year, try to pick up short part-time jobs to support yourself in the meantime, especially if it's industry adjacent roles.
