Wish me luck misc

Doctors appointment in just under an hour

Haven't been allowed to run for last 9 weeks after I got a stress fracture

Have started swimming most days instead but it's not the same....

Fingers crossed the doctors tell me I'm allowed.to.start running again.

I will probably cry if they say no

I have a mountain bike but it's not safe to ride it around Auckland

Rather hurt myself running than get hit by a car again

Be smart and take the time to heal properly if that's what's needed. I know how much you love running but swimming is great so stay with it.

Best wishes and speedy healing.

Thank youI've done a couple of underwater treadmill runs, it's bloody expensive but it's better than nothing

Have a couple of ultras coming up in Feb and April and I NEED to start training for them - can't just go and run 50k with no training!!

Feel you man. If I couldn't run I'd rather be dead myself.

That said, in the long run (pun intended),

you'd be fine as long as you know and rememberwhat caused that very stress fracture.

We make small mistakes from time to time so we will never make a big one.

Take care and good luck too.

FUARK, no update.

I figure you didn't get the news you wanted to hear.

But its ok babe, its an opportunity to try other new activities while you heal the fracture.

You may get to add more time to something you didn't know you'd like.

Haha sorry I just got busy!!!

And YES I got the best news, doctor made me jump up and down on the spot a bit, pushed and prodded me a bit and asked me lots of questions and

I'm allowed to run again!!!!!

He said he wants me to take it easy and to run on softer surfaces (trail runs, beaches etc) rather than asphalt , and to make sure I wear good supportive shoes and to keep doing my swimming and yoga, as well, but all of that is fine by me

So happy. Today was final day at work, I've got the next three weeks off so it's perfect for getting some really nice scenic runs in

I live in Auckland so our hills aren't really that big, nothing compared to Wanaka or the Southern Alps. I do a bit of running jn the Redwoods (down by Rotorua) but they're not really that big either.

I'd love to do UTA Australia but I'm a bit scared of snakes and spiders
