Anyone do weighted pull-ups/chinups?

Love doing these, I weigh about 240 but can handle decent weight on these, nowhere near my prime though.

Even 5-10lbs on this lift feels like a fuking mountain of difference

Mogging bro!! Most miscers couldn't handle half of that! Despite the fact the majority are sub 200lb twinks.

Yeah i really enjoy them, do lots of bodyweight ones too.

About 2 years back when i was sitting around 90kg i was able to hit 35k added weight for about 6 reps.

I've slacked a bit lately and i also weigh around 98kg, but i'm still able to do 25kg x 5-6, although i want to get back to where i was. Considering i'm tall (6'4) with long arms, im pretty happy with what i was able to do, but it'd be cool to rep 2 plates. Never tried 1 rep maxes on pulls or anything though, always hit a minimum of like 5 reps.

Mirin video OP srs.

Gets brutal after 20kgs.

Agreed. People WTF when they see it. Blows up your back and is great for core/grip strength.

Solid work at 240 bro. I hover between 240-250 at 6'5".

I always pull my heaviest weight first set and drop after. Used to do 2x45 lbs plates for 4-5 for my heavy sets. Those days are long over. Now I do 24kg (52lbs) kettlebell for 10-12 (chinup) then 6-8 (pullup) super set. Drop to 45lbs plate after that for same or sometimes a few more reps. Then 35lb plate, then 25lbs plate, then bodyweight only.

Edit: on spread with you OP.
6'5, 240lbs.

245lbs BW +115lbs added

I can get 90lbs on a very good day now, so I’m still pretty far off. Let’s say 40lbs off, which is huge.

I would like to know where exactly my form was “very bad”, I mean sure it’s not perfect but I’m not in a competition I am just lifting for fun if I manage to cobble together enough energy and motivation to do it

Yes. In my gym, weighted chins are a pull day staple.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*

am up to about 25lbs on the ole weight chin up. def. one of my favorite movements.

actually did them this morning but where i usually do them some boomer who is creeping ppl out left his water bottle legit straight dead center under it & between the cables. you would think, ok, hes doing pullups but no, hed jump up to that, hang for 5 seconds, then go off & do 3 other movements but leave his water bottle sitting dead center. at one time i counted 4 other machines he'd bounce in between after walking away from his "hangs" & leaving his water bottle there. fukking weird asf.

like i said, dudes doing other chit that's creeping ppl out.
