Which is the best grunge band from the 90s

Discuss.

Been listening to grunge recently, didn't realize how good Alice in Chains was live until seeing their Unplugged concert

I'd probably rate it
1. Nirvana
2. Alice in Chains
3. Audioslave
4. Soundgarden
5. Stone temple pilots

Not my favorite genre but can't deny the truly all time greats in some of the bands you mentioned

Nirvana
Smashing pumpkins
Pearl jam
Alice in chains.

I think Radiohead is right at the bubble of that early 90s grundge list when they came out but if they can be considered they belong on the list.

Saw all of those bands live, going to say Weiland is the best front man out of all of them.

Even sings GnR songs better than Axl Rose

Nirvana and AiC were both awesome live.

Mirin. Would've liked to see those bands live in their heyday

For me it would be:

1. Alice In Chains
2. Soundgarden
3. Stone Temple Pilots
4. Nirvana
5. Pearl Jam (Not a fan of)
I've heard this before but don't think being a "supergroup" diminishes them imo

I don't really like pearl jam either

Yeah very sad and we lost some amazing talent indeed.

Years ago I had a friend who worked at WAAF radio station in Boston. I got to see Scott perform this song there. He was crazy good!

AIC for me! They also had one of the best MTV Unplugged episodes IMO. Especially Since what everything Layne was going through at the time, he still nailed it!

Audioslave did not exist in the 90s and the answer is Soundgarden.

Not really a grunge fan but I'd have to say Alice in Chains was the best grunge band and Soundgarden would be next. I strongly dislike Nirvana. Kurt Cobains voice was not good, can't even come a little bit close to Chris Cornell and Layne Staleys voices.

AIC for me, then Soundgarden, then Nirvana. As has already been said, Audioslave wasn't a band in the 90s.

PJ and STP were great in the 90s only but later stuff taints them for me.
