At what point do you introduce your girlfriend to parents?

- been seeing girl about 5 months. Relationship seems pretty stable. She's stays over at my place multiple times per week usually
- haven't really told my parents about her.i think they suspect I'm seeing someone but I never really flat out said it. Just didn't wanna look like a fool and tell everyone about it just to have it end

- thinking if it continues much longer ...I want to have a dinner together or something with my parents . They live in the same city but I live alone

- just like having someone to escort me to family functions etc

Just wasn't sure if I ready for that again

But I should tell them...should done it while I had the chance

I don't know. You're on the phone with your mom. She asks how you're doing, you tell her you're good and have been seeing someone. Conversely, she asks if you're seeing someone. You say yes.

Are you actively pulling the wool over your family's eyes for any particular reason?

You don't. Men don't worry about such things, only women. Do they think you're gay or something?

If it comes up or there's a big family gathering, then yeah bring her along. Otherwise it ain't that serious to ponder about.

No man just always been on the anxious side over things like this.

I was over their last night at parents, but never disclosed it. Next time I speak to them I'm going to just straight up tell them
Thx bro

I should just be more open

There was a few occasions where they texted me inviting me over...I had to make up some other excuse rather than just say I was with her.

Next time I'm just going to flat out saying , fk it.

Seriously?

"You have any plans for the weekend?"
"XYZ and I are doing ABC."
"Who is XYZ?"
"This girl I've been seeing."
"You should bring her over for dinner."

In my case it was after the wedding, but I guess you're not planning to wait that long.

If your mom and ex were close I guess I get the anxiety but you can't spend your life working for their approval or hiding things from them. You live on your own, you've got a job but you've got to show that you actually are a grown up too in your actions and behavior.

That, plus the fact that my wife and I didn't date at all before we got married, so couldn't have really introduced them anyway.

Also my ex just had that personable personality that matched with my mom.

So it would make me look more mature if I just said I'm dating someone Instead of bsing?

That's right got a job, my own place, etc

Well it's just a sign of maturity, being a man, whatever you want to call it. You are living your life, that's nothing to hide.

Edit - And I get it, my mom still goes to lunch on occasion with an ex MIL of mine.

Thanks bro well said

And imo my gf isn't bad on the eyes, an improvement from my ex .

So there's no nervousness of being judged.

Just gotta lay it all out and have absolutely nothing to hide now that's living free

Cheers

Well for one thing imo this girl is way more attractive than my ex...so it's like to be honest I feel like this slight desire to show off ...whether that's right or wrong not sure just gotta calm down

But that's what I'm asking ...is 4 -5 months in that early?

I got this girl hooked right now , I know she isn't into any other guys.

At 6 months they normally start wanting to have "the conversation", so 4-5 months isn't that early.

She has since voluntarily deleted the app

Yeah dude I'm a white guy. It dawned on me that if you find the right asian chick they are far superior than western women..and that asian cuisine is GOAT

Exactly. I think if I continue with a good effort level and don't slack I can keep her.

Honestly, I had to shuffle through a whole lot of bs in the dating game to land something this solid. ( in my opinion ofcourse)

I think it depends on a lot of things. If you've been steady seeing each other and have had the exclusive relationship talk then I don't see anything wrong with introducing her to your parents if she is interested in meeting them. I told my mom about my bf prob within a few months of dating. She met him around 7 months in. My son introduced his gf to me and his dad around the 3 month mark.

Thank you, good point. No way would I introduce a girl I wasn't pretty sure about and no way would i introduce one that was seeing other men ( she's not ) .

But I haven't even completed the first step and conclusively told them about her tho

You still dating that same guy?
