Anyone else think this was one of the best martial arts films of the 80s

If so which did you like better 1 or 2



Both are good. The first is a more realistic sports movie the 2nd more along the lines of an action film

Remember going to see this when it came out. Good movie.

Van damn seems like a pretty good dude. Segal while having some pretty good movies just seems like a real jerk

Bloodsport will always be the GOAT for me. Any cringey and over the top attempts at acting in Bloodsport made you laugh. The cringey and over the top acting in Best of the best just made you cringe. And the fight scenes weren't good enough to save it.

When I think of martial arts movies and 1980s, you can't beat Jackie Chan. Police Story 1 and 2 were some of his best.

Best of the Best was awesome, and so we're all the movies referred to in this thread.

Off on a bit of a tangent here; how big would The Expendables franchise be if they had started making those movies in the early 90s? Norris, van Damme, Stallone and Schwarzenegger were all top of their game at the time.
