A friend once gave me advice: don’t compare your life to those who have it better

Ideally, never compare. But if you do, compare your circumstances to those who have it worse. Because there will always be someone who has it better.

A bit of the antithesis of miscers who compare themselves to moggers that get 350k matches a day on dating sites. Not bad advice in general imo though. We tend to get lost in our desires and failures.

What do you think misc?

I don’t 100% agree with him, I think comparing yourself to those who have it better can give you drive and initiative. I also kind of get where he is coming from. Remembering those who have it worse gives you some perspective.

I don’t disagree with your buddy.
It’s hard to not want but when you look at what you have, most of us are truly blessed.

It's actually one of our skills in this specialized therapy to think of those who are worse off and be grateful.

It's so easy to get depressed that you don't have enough money, a hot enough girlfriend, that you're lonely, etc. but then when you go to third world countries where they are lucky to get food and clean water.
