What is it about jacked dudes that makes some martial artists insecure?
It can be any fitness video. some dude with big muscles doing his thing, and in the comment some jack off talking about how all those muscles mean nothing in a fight, like the jacked dude mentioned fighting at all.
I've never seen the reverse on martial arts videos. "Yeah, that guy is a great grappler, but have you seen how tiny his legs are? Probably can't even squat 2 plates!". You'd think the bodybuilderesque guy would be the more insecure one. It is one of the stereotypes associated with the pursuit after all.
Have y'all noticed the big guys doing this too? Have y'all seen the types of comments I'm talking about?

I havent punched anyone in the face since i was like 14. if you have your life together you shouldnt really be street fighting and you should be able to afford to not live in the ghetto. people go their entire lives without being robbed or fighting.
What is the chances that a pro body builder is going to run into a cage fighter and have a street fight IRL? its almost zero.

It's not necessarily big muscles that make people insecure; it's the muscle tonacity (tightness). You ever seen those guys with very little bodyfat flex? Their muscles may not be impressive in size but they feel like steel and that can be instantly fear-provoking. It feels like you are punching someone wearing steel armor.

lol thats an interesting and very true observation
i think that everyone wants a beautiful body, for men that means being big, strong and ripped. most people just lack the dedication and will-power as well so there's alot of coping around the subject. genetics are real but even still with a good diet and serious routine anyone can look pretty good. maybe not as good as the best "fitness models" but none the less most people don't come anywhere close to their physical potential and no matter how much they cope, in the back of their mind they know that.
why people say you couldnt fight? well its probably them projecting because when they see a jacked dude they feel intimidated and insecure. so the cope is yea well your muscles aren't actually that great because a trained fighter could beat you up.
i bet that all the people who leave those comments are neither jacked or trained in fighting at all, which makes it funnier
its just like the steroids thing. why would dad-bods give a **** if the rock does juice? i don't know but they really get upset about it

Usually just cope from scrawny dweebs you would get folded in half
Most great fighters are physical specimens, just not bodybuilders because its detrimental to cardio

Always wondered about this. I dont have it ive boxed a bunch.
But my mates who didnt hit the gym & boxed twinkish, they were always talking about me being 'big' even tho i aint.
In a complimentary way, but they had it on their mind alot wich was weird. Like they brought it up almost everytime. They would squeeze my arms and chit, down lo gay behaviour.
On the otherhand.
Nonlifters & non sportselc try not to give your gains any attention, some of them get all pissy when u talk about the gym.

True Martial Artists aren't insecure. It's the black belt rexkwondo nerds who think they're tough.

Furthermore, muscles while not useless aren't that useful. It's about athleticism, it's just that good athletes are also usually muscular but the opposite isn't true, being muscular doesn't make one a good athlete.
Steroids and lifting can give an unathletic person the appearance of performance when there's effectively no go under the hood. I think gym rats fronting like that is what rubs the martial arts people the wrong way.

And meatheads are still going to be more physically useful than the average person. The average person does not exercise, and just deteriorates slowly.

As a martial artist let me tell you...
There's a reason there's weight classes in competition. Heavier and more muscular is a huge advantage.
If an untrained buff guy fights a trained guy, there's a chance the trained guy will win.
But if the buff guy also has technique, let me tell you the trained guy with no muscle mass is going to lose 9/10 times.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
