Even as someone who has always been a fan of subscriptions like Gamepass and PS+ I still prefer to own my games. Heck the whole subscription model really turned me off Nintendo's approach to retro gaming, screw the slow drip feed of old games you need to subscribe for.

Problem with subscriptions is how games come and go, there can be a game you really like on there, but one day they might stop selling or supporting it and you're screwed. Then again this is a real problem for live service games regardless of if you buy them or not, which is why I prefer to play those games on a subscription, but then again I've been generally trying to avoid such games now a days. The more they go down this path of not owning anything, the less I want to have anything to do with them.

Well that was worded terribly.

I'd even say that the U+ deal is great since for 18 EUR a month you can play all the games you want, probably finish them and then just cancel your sub. There really is no reason to replay Ubi games, so once you're done you're done and you saved a ton of money.
